used to make that trip every weekend for 5 years while we built a house in Harbor Beach. Enjoy the ride. Have left harbor Beach for Port Elgin on Canadian side flat calm. Half way a breeze came up and when we got to Port Elgin waves were over 13 feet. We were in a 31 foot Silverton . Nasty Port quarter run.. Watch Whi9te Rock point on the run from Sanilac to Harbor Beach C dock was our favorite. The tip of the thumb can be really bad and it shoals from 90 feet to 6 pretty quick the drop off used to be great salmon fishing.

Thanks for the information, we didn't experience any really bad conditions but have heard many stories like yours. We loved Port Elgin.

Hope you enjoy our sail to Harbor Beach, this is the most northern point we have ever been on SummerWind. Keep watching as we continue North up the east cost of Michigan.

Do like your dodger, sometimes would get too complacent under the dodger when traveling in rainy weather.

Unlike the Caribbean you don’t have to worry about pirates

🤔 statistically though you probably have more home ground fun loving criminals and fire arms incidents. So let's just enjoy what's on offer.
