You may as well use a snake roll cast to achieve the same effect, I think
@RIOPRODUCTS3 жыл бұрын
The Snake Roll is usually better if there is a strong wind blowing downstream, while the Snap T works best with an upstream wind...
@rimmer674 жыл бұрын
Total newby here....errrm, does an upstream wind COME FROM upstream direction? As is a NORTHERLY wind actually blowing from the North?.
@RIOPRODUCTS4 жыл бұрын
Great question, and something we should have mentioned. In fishing lingo a downstream wind is the opposite of the weather lingo. In fishing a downstream wind blows TO downstream. Great comment, thanks. I hope the explanation makes sense.

Could also say upcurrent- against the current and downcurrent - with the current.

We lefties have to envision this from our perspective.

At any level of hand or cast..it's wind speed, current drection if any..line flow and a love of the delivery.....and that hoped for sink of the line...that ain't a snag....oh yeah

I love your videos, especially from a fellow Welshman, but I thought Snap T, Snap C, Circle and Snap Z are all different casts, with different peculiarities, on a similar theme of a change of direction cast in an upstream wind, as an alternative to a Single spey cast.
@RIOPRODUCTS3 жыл бұрын
Technically they are, with slightly different ways to make the set up stroke, but we didn't want to confuse new Spey casters by talking about the differences in this video. In the follow up video, How To Improve A Snap T Simon does show the more vertical wave of the original Snap T, as opposed to the curvy circle/snap C, but again lumps it into a single name to try and keep it clear and simple. We should make one that shows the differences of all, though. Thanks for the comment, and we are delighted that you like our videos.
