They did bring out a s790 for a demo and when we asked if we could use it until ours was fixed, (because it was the last of the demos they were doing with that machine) they said we could use it only if we bought a S series for next year! Now eventually the manager said we could use it until we got ours back but the fact that they didn’t even offer in the first place is ridiculous!

Hi Mike, What are your thoughts on the new case quadtrac? More horsepower and weight I imagine wou’d be favorable for you guys up there
@clearskiesranch1362 Жыл бұрын
Total lack of effort from case ih. They should’ve pushed to design a new tractor with 800+ horsepower to qualify for the decreased emission requirements. They would have easily topped the market for large frame tractor sales. The same engine that will be in the new Quadtracs is pushing over 1000hp in marine applications so Case IH completely dropped the ball
@gablair1965 Жыл бұрын
A Marine application is a completely different thing compared to agriculture or construction application for the same engine. For Mike and his family chasing horsepower for a few steep hills. It's really only an issue for a very small percentage of their total acreage doesn't make economic sense.

Pay no attention to Clearskies, he likes to troll.. But my recommendation would be work for a farmer and cultivate a great relationship with him and talk to him about land opportunities. Then save up to buy a 1/4 of land. Once you have done that, most likely the farmer will allow you to use his equipment to cover it for limited acres. Second option. Look for land rental opportunities, buy some older cheap equipment and start out that way. It can be done 100%! All the while saving up to buy a 1/4 of land the area where you are renting.

@@clearskiesranch1362 you can expand without "stomping" on people, I have two young neighbours right beside me and we have discussed expanding. I told them when (x) package comes up in the future, let's split it. I also asked what they were paying for cash rent and told them what I was paying to be in the "ball park". At the end of the day, it will all depend on what they can cover or even want for that matter. But I actually work with the people who befriend me and my neighbours. Treat people how you want to be treated is my rule of thumb. I have turned land away because it was getting pulled out from under someone. You can be aggressive, but you don't have to be a dick.

Yields for what crop? Yields on the Canadian prairies are lower than other places because they are both cold and dry. Yields elsewhere in Canada and America are higher. When you have very short growing seasons and long winters, combined with drought and no water for irrigation, and relatively poor soils because they haven't had much growth on them since the glaciers passed over, you get much lower yields.
