Thanks for the video, this is the jet I fly the most in the Israeli tech tree. My dad is a retired Honduran airforce fightet pilot. He flew the Sa'ar from 1978-1996. It was a very well loved jet here in Honduras.

I like this plane, but I like the A-4N even more. It’s basically better in every single way, has cm, flares, is a smaller target and it can carry 2x Aim-9D and 2x Shafrir 2

Surprisingly, the The Sa'ar's J57-P-8B, while not having an afterburner like the Sambad, actually still has slightly more thrust at high speed than the Samad's engine. So the Sa'ar is actually a bit faster than the Sambad at sea level (1149kph for Sa'ar vs 1138kph for Sambad). Though it does have less thrust at low to medium speeds than the Sambad, which is more useful for general air-to-air performance (acceleation and climb) and the Sa'ar can still be considered a general downgrade in performance. But still, the fact that a non-afterburning engine was able to approach (and exceed in some ways) the performance of an afterburning one really shows how this later-model J57 engine was more advanced than the 101G2 Atar. It would have had much better fuel efficiency and have been considered a massive upgrade IRL for the ground attack role.

You see, the biggest problem with this jet is not its performance, but the fact you’re going to face 30g missiles from the 70’s. Most jets at this br have sadly been power-crept from its place. It’s so sad to see some of the most influential/important jets from this era not even playable.

I really wish Gaijin would make gyrostablised and radar directed gun sights functional in RB. It's really simple - all they need to do is use the standard AB led indicator but give it a much larger or fainter sight ring, and or make it only work at close range. Come on Gaijin, make radar gunsights great again !

A lot of us have been asking for that functionality from the radar gunsights (or a radar lock) for a while, but there hasn't even been a response to the question. (Often they'll just say no)

2:34 you can dodge Aim-9Ls by just going head on, and yeeting an aam at them. Works for me, at least (I use the PL-2 on the J-6A, but the Shafrirs should work as well)

How come this is the same BR as the Hunter F.1? But gets really good missiles, a wide variety of payload options, a bomb CCIP and the main drawback is that it doesn't have an afterburner or countermeasures (which the Hunter doesn't get either).

I crippled this thing with 2 critical hits in my MiG-21S and yet the guy managed to missile me, i had no idea it had missiles. Btw regarding the other comment saying you pronounce it wrong, i think it is pronounced in the arab way, which is closer to 'su-uh-r', great video as always.

What does the Launch Range and Missile Guidance Time mean? Does it mean normal range of the missile (if stationary, 0Km - 18Km for e.g.) & guidance time means how long it can fly before losing all its speed and falling/self-destructing?

For example: I see many people pronouce 'Kfir' as 'Kefir'. You should pronounce 'Kfir' like how you pronounce 'Spear'.

@@ofekk213 As far as I know, there are no english words that start with Kf, Its an extremely uncommon sound. Same with adding ( ' ) in the middle of words. The only reason it's obvious sounding to you is because you either A) Speak the language or B) Have known these words for a very long time and heard a native speaker say them.
