Mozambique did nott pay any money to the ANC to keep them afloat, therefore the president was not really worried about Mozambique. His colleagues are already in government there and he will do nothing to go against their wishes.

South africa does not have any role to play in Mozambique, as it is a traditional ally of frelimo, and frelimo was overwhelmingly defeated in the October 9 elections.

South africa loses more. They depend on moźambique. Gas, energy, goods, transportation of minerals. And more. Mozambique only depends on south africa on basic needs. Food and some supply.
