SA, Simpson & Hay River 2024 Part 2 (Cameron Corner to Willow Springs)

The second part of our July and August 2024 trip to South Australia, the Simpson and Hay River Tracks with our 2012 Land Rover Discovery 4 towing our Track TVan.
This episode covers the 790km from Cameron Corner to Willow Springs in the Flinders.
The Cameron Corner to Merty Merty had just reopened and was quite rutted and had a number of bypass tracks to avoid pooled water.
We over nighted on the Strzelecki at Montecollina Bore and took the Mount Hopeless Road though to Balcanoona and spent the night at the Weetootla Gorge national park camp site (having been to Arcaroola a number of times this was a great option).
We took a drive out to Lake Frome for a look, this is well worth a visit.
Two nights at Chambers Gorge is a must. The first night we were the only ones there. The second night a couple of cars came in but camped well out of sight from us.
We then moved on to Willow Springs Station via Blinman, the Great Wall of China, The Cazneaux Tree, Wilpena Pound and Stokes Hill Lookout.
