Very worrying, people who have jobs seem not to care about those who suffer. People who work for state institutions (municipalities, correctional services, government offices, police ext.) do not appreciate the job they have, arriving late for work, doing the minimum. Shame on you!

The problem with the unemployment rate is not being solved because companies in South Africa do not hire candidates with Diplomas and Higher certificates. In South Africa companies are only offering jobs to graduates who have Degrees. For us who have Diplomas it is a pity because we go to University and colleges for 3 years to achieve a Diploma or a Higher certificate and then we sit at home and end up unemployed. The irony is that the government does not even inform us not to pursue Diplomas and Higher certificates so we spend money to acquire incompetent qualifications and the government encourages us to pass with 30% in matric then we don't qualify to study for Degrees.

Most unemployed people are unemployment. 1. 8h00am they are still sleeping 2. Attitude nje 3. Can't remember basics on what they studied 4. Lack of value system (Ubuntu/ Botho) 5. Lack of service skills 6. They are sitting at home on TIKTOK, they are not taking time to learn basic skills (word,excel, service skills) 7. Don't want to start from below salary wise, ba rata R15,000.00 go fitisa in this terrible economy. 8. Most entrepreneurs/and big business rather automate processes than deal with this behaviour 9. They don't contribute in meetings, LACK OF COMMUNICATION IS THEIR BIGGEST DOWNFALL 10. Month-end mentality e ba tsene thata. 11. Human nature defeats the INTENTIONS of hiring. 12. Employees resign as if there's other jobs on the like up if they feel uncomfortable. 13. Hiring people will give you a heart attack, it's not FUN 14. They can't keep each other accountable, they let others destroy the business without reprimanding them. When you leave the office the behaviour changes. 15. Graduates are even worse, too entitled, ekare certificate ke tshone se tliling go bereka Let everyone hire themselves. RE LAPILE TUU

Can I nitpick your statement?, although is true but to some degree its not a defining factor, while you are correct in some profession or even companies, degrees are critical but what if I you can close that gap by going an extra mile compared to those who degrees. For instance ensure your cv is highly comprehensive and its reflective of your skills and practice interview techniques to the tee. What most of us lack as compared to those with degrees is morale and how we can carry ourselves which is critical if you are going to break into corporate. We sell ourselves short and subconciously you deem your self lesser without even starting, I have been there. All in all is to hone your skills as best as you can whether using YT or other platforms, network (which is used loosely but very important) and be consitent.

forget about that and focus on starting your own thing with what you have now because i can tell you a degree won't solve your issues even those graduate programs they probably only offer them to to top 3% of those that have those degrees and the fact that you probably don't have experience it's even worse every company now they are not wanting to invest in employees or training meaning they not hiring people with just qualification they also want exp someone with 3yyears of work exp is better off than someone with honors degrees and no exp even if they have internship exp the problem is that there is too many people job seekers and not enough jobs out there even for so called high demand they also want 5 to 10years of work exp there is no one size fits all in this market the best thing you can do now is to forget about these things think and plan what you actually want do you really want a job or you just want income ? or you want something that can sustain you over the long term and don't mind putting the work now without expecting anything ? if you just want money then you know what to do you have to hustle or set up a website and sell whatever skills you have out there if you don't then you have to learn ...ect if you want number 2 then you have to active do research and many other things what you can't do is throw the towel and give up one way or another you have to work

While degree candidates are more favoured then diploma ones, I think it depends on the province you are in, and how well you did in your 3 year diploma, and also contacts not just for a job but for various other reasons,my contracts/offers were only for other provinces,nothing at all for Durban,and then of course if you have no money to move to Cape Town and live there then how do you move,what happens without contacts is that you get stuck and unable to get certain jobs because of the lack of finance.Now the other blockage is how do you get a job in Durban that will allow you to save up to move province without any help from anyone else

Look at the destructive policies that constrain job creators BEE, AA. Thousands of jobs were lost due to BEE, where companies closed down because of over extraction of resources from the company by BEE beneficiaries. I.t.o.AA, the only sound rule is the best man for the job, that simple!

My friend, you make a huge mistake, jobs fall out of thin air! There are a very small minority that have the capacity, inclination and preserverance to create long term viable and economy growing jobs. These people come from al walks of life, and all of us, independent of skin colour suffer from AA, BEE. The BEE of the last 25 years, is about gatekeepers, extracting toll and adding very little value. The exceptions are there, but are few and far between and in my engagement with them I find they have the same issues that we have! Not being able to appoint the best person for the job, corruption cloaked as BEE, 'loyalty fee' to some political enforcer to get licences... Please, start working for a better future by supporting whomever grow the economy, create jobs and uplift through their actions!
@dienar3717Күн бұрын
@ohlangeni Equality of opportunity, perfect, but what I see daily is desperate people looking for a way to improve their destiny by applying for work, with no opportunities. BEE & AA is opportunity killers promoted by the gate keeper class, at the expense of the desperate people among us. Whoever create jobs should be supported, not with money but by removing the stiffling environment of BEE, AA and a lot of other over regulation and government inefficiëncy/stupidity!
@ohlangeni23 сағат бұрын
@dienar3717 BEE was a programe by White capital to bring in few ANC elites into owning miniscule amount of shares in Big Business. It has had zero effect on the general population Black and White. It is just a war-cry by White neo-Nazi fearful of racial equality. The biggest winners of Affirmative Action has been White women, followed by Indian men. It is entirely driven by private business wanting State tenders.
