SAAB 900/9-3 Transmission And Front Right Motor Mount Replacement

In this video I go over replacement of the front left motor mount and transmission mount on the NG 900 and OG 9-3. There will be slight variation between different model years, and between manual and automatic transmissions. 1994 900s through 2002 9-3s/03 convertibles.

Excellent video, sir! The wheels and wheel well covers don't HAVE to come off, but it's not difficult to do so, and makes life simpler. Also allows you more access to Inspect other parts down there.

Couple of things I noticed when I did this: 1. You don't actually need to take the wheels off if you don't want to. You can get to the transmission mount on the driver's side with an extension pretty easily as long as you take the bottom dust covers off (which you'll need to do anyway) 2. You can get by without taking the whole wheel well cover off on the passenger side too, which can be helpful on these older cars where the plastic parts like to snap and give you trouble. If you take just the three or four screws out towards the front of the car, you can pry the cover back. 3. Be really careful getting the passenger side engine mount out. Mine was seized pretty badly in there and the guide pin actually sheared off, which meant an hour of frustratingly drilling out the remainder of it and trying to grab it out with a screwdriver. Save yourself the trouble and get some PB blaster between the mount and the mount point, and if it's seized only hit it away from the engine. Hope this helps someone!

I recently did these same two mounts on my 1997 manual. It's very much the same. The one on the right was really bad, to the point the oil pan was riding on the subframe. The one on the left wasn't bad at all, nothing near as bad as yours. Maybe that's the difference between the manual and automatic.

Hey, do you remember if the passenger side mount is different. Online I'm seeing one with a round metal plate on one side and it tends to be goldish color

@@saabmanmatvei2185 Maybe the part numbers will help you. For the manual transmission model, the passenger side (right side on US cars) mount part number is 4623146, the left side (driver US) is 4356176, and the rear mount is 4283875 (with a replacement number) of 5064449

The transmission mounts are different between the automatic and manual, but both transmissions do have a mount
