During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of KZbin!

I still have my 2001 Dodge Intrepid R/T. Mint condition Socal, garage kept Car. It has that same engine. Yes. That engine purrs like nothing else I have owned. I recently had it SMOG'ed. While I was waiting, I saw the technician staring at the engine while it was running. I walked over to see if everything was OK, and he said "everything is OK. But, I've never seen an engine idle so smooth". That coming from a guy that sees alot of idling engines, I take it as a huge compliment. Especially with all the glorification that Japanese imports get. These LH cars are pretty incredible cars. But, they need to be cared for. Most people never took care of them. So, their reputation suffered. 2 months before I bought the Intrepid R/T, we bought the Concorde. Another great car. It was our family wagon for 8 years.

That's because it was part of the Dodge/Chrysler LH chassis/platform. I had a 2001 Intrepid. I have mixed opinions. They felt cheap and VERY crappy inside. Parts were always breaking because they skimped so much on quality inside. The ceiling liner failed, the center console failed, the seals around the instrument panel failed. But in nearly 9 years of ownership, it always started on the first crank. I'll GLADLY take reliability over quality. A few broken parts can be replaced but that's always much easier and cheaper than having it sit on the lift for a day undergoing expensive engine/tranny repairs! Despite all the niggles and little nitpicks it went through, the engine/tranny (the two most expensive and risky things in any car) never ever failed me. And don't try to defend Honda, silly fanboys. My brother and sister-in-law had Civics that were 2-3 years newer than my Dodge and both of them had EXPENSIVE engine issues of all kinds long before even reaching 60,000 miles. My car never went to a Mopar garage for any engine issues.

This one is super clean and nice! i would buy this car still today myself!

I love older Chryslers and the designs of their vehicles in the mid to late 1990's and early to mid 2000's is absolutely stunning. My mother loves the Chrysler 300M because of the car's edgy and aggressive exterior styling; specifically the car's distinct "bat wing" headlights. I also love the 300M but I also love the Cirrus, Concorde, Sebring (sedan, coupe, and convertible), LHS, Town and Country, and the 300M Special. What makes the Chrysler 300M Special different from the standard 300M is as follows: 1.) Lower ride height. 2.) Turn signals in the side view mirrors. 3.) Eighteen inch wheels. 4.) Two different interior color schemes: black or a two-tone cream and black. 5.) Signature body cladding. 6.) A higher top speed of 150 MPH.

But they were kinda useless because they lacked a lot of information. I badly needed a battery indicator. I was hard pressed to find any detailed videos about the Chrysler LH cars. But I really hit the jackpot when I stumbled upon this! There are very few cars that you can clearly remember the time and place you saw it for the first time. My first sightings of a 1968 Corvette Stingray, 1970 Camaro and 1998 Chrysler LHS are indelibly etched into my memory. That's how awestruck I was when this sleek beast slinked past me in the snow covered parking lot at K-Mart. It was unfathomable that a large 4-door sedan could be so... for lack of a better word... sexy!

It's crazy how seemingly advanced this car was for its time! I have a 2008 Saturn Aura with GM's 3.5 V6 that makes 224 horsepower, where the 3.5 V6 in this LHS makes over 250! In a 2001... 7 years earlier! Now, we have 3.5 engines in production that make over 300 horsepower. And not to mention this car essentially starting the trend of Chrysler's steering wheel control layout, and the other modern ahead-of-it's-time features it had. 90's & early 2000's vehicles really sparked my passion for cars, some of them are quite interesting.

Chrysler's 3.5 uses the newer overhead cam technology that most cars switched to between the late 80s and 90s. GM hung on to the old technology for some reason (probably cost). The overhead cam is much more efficient. You get more horsepower, and the same (or sometimes a little better) gas mileage. The only benefit to the older technology is that it's less complicated and therefore the maintenance is cheaper.

I owned a ‘99 LHS, and my mom had an ‘03 Concorde Limited. The LHS had more soft touch materials inside, perforated leather inserts, four way adjustable head rests, and the leather was much better quality than the Concorde. Both cars were absolute pieces of Chrysler. The LHS never had properly functioning A/C, from the day it was brand new, and there’s a laundry list of other (some funny) failures. The Concorde needed 4 transmissions before 80k, and both cars had power door lock failures. All that being said, aside from the 117 governed top speed, the cars are quick, very responsive save for a bit of understeer that suddenly appears near the limit, and the 19 cubic feet of trunk space makes them PERFECT for long road trips. Fuel economy is fabulous for such a big car. On the highway the LHS was able to achieve over 30 mpg at a cruising speed of 73 mph and I would love to find a good condition used one to keep as a spare car.

Great video Kyle! I cannot believe you only have around 30k more until 1,000,000 subs. You've definately earned it! I've been here since 2011, and I've enjoyed your content ever since! Keep doing the great work man. 😊

Reminds me of my '02 Sebring Convertible. Chrysler made such nice-riding cars in this era. Lots of hidden gem features as well, I love seeing cars from the past with options you may not see in today's cars, like the auto-tilting in reverse side-view mirrors for instance.

Another great review! I'm glad you still feature normal cars in your reviews, I may not be fond of this model in particular but the car itself is such an amazing machine I think you can find something interesting in any model and I'm glad it shows in your reviews.

Thank you so much for making this particular video, as I never had a chance to own this car. I had a 99 300M, so definitely appreciate you highlighting the differences between these models. The 3.5L engine was the same for the 300M. Only the 300M "Special" received the HiPo version along with other suspension upgrades etc. Thank you also for the 300M and 300M Special videos you made some time ago. Your experience has improved the quality, thoroughness, duration, and content compared to those earlier videos ;-) Bravo Zulu!

First, thank you so much for sharing your video of this gorgeous LHS !❤ You obviously did a lot of research and work to perform your very impressive review of this mint condition LHS !!! ❤ Since my childhood, I have always LOVED these big, full size sedans, even more so the luxury ones ! Very sad they don't make them anymore. Back in the day, I had hired LHS a few times, for weekends or just to enjoy the luxury feel ride for a day or two. I remember the trunk being huge and could fit a push bike ! Love the feeling of spaciousness and decadence in the cabin!❤
