2004 BMW X5 4.8is Start Up, Exhaust, In Depth Tour, and Short Test Drive

In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2004 BMW X5 4.8is. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this suv while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. I also take it for a brief test drive and show how it is on the road. A thorough tour/review of this suv designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle. BTW there are many other features of the X5 I was not able to show such, this vehicle is loaded, I will give you the best overview that I can in the time I have.

I just love how BMW has the limited RPM feature with lights on the RPM clock that helps get the engine all warmed up!

6:00 These buttons are actually fragile as paper imo. Sometimes, they can fall when I kickdown lol. Also another heads up: the intake and air filter are actually 1 whole thing. So you'll have to take them BOTH out to get to the filter. -03' X5 4.4i owner.

I personally have this exact SUV. Only difference is no rack and wide rear tires. I love this SUV. It gets around 16 on highway and depending on how heavy footed of a driver you are around 10 in city. Be prepared for LOTS of suspension issues though. The self leveling suspension is a pain and expensive to fix at that. Also be prepared for VERY expensive brake changes. AND you can't forget the sweet ski bag that pops out of the back center consul. Love this SUV though!

4.6is was released in 2002 and stayed for 2 years till 2004 when they made the 4.8is, i'm guessing they realized the 5 speed tranny wasnt cutting it, and it needed something more over the 4.4, they also managed to dramatically increase fuel economy with the 4.8is., also what most people don't realize or understand is that small engine does not mean better on gas, there are huge engines burning less than 4 cyl., fuel consumption depends mainly on the driver and the road conditions.

@Bmwx5fan9 I had a 2003 X5 4.8ltr V8 as my first. But I was just using it when my dad bought a Jeep while he was looking for a new car for me that was better on gas and not an SUV. But that was my favorite car ever... :( Black on black interior. Best car ever, even though the air conditioning didn't work, but that's what sun roofs were for ;)

In Europe it's common to see BMW 1, 3 and 5 Series with cloth interior. Leatherette and leather are options there. The newest BMWs in the lineup can be ordered with a cloth/suede combo here in NA or standard leather and leatherette.

I cam real close to ownin a X5, I think the one that I was gonna get was an '02. It was blue with black interior, and the wood grain. Very fancy SUV.

Clearly the nicest car on the lot! This is LUXURY!! I got an '01 for my graduation gift! Hardly any different except this 4.8is has a few more options than they even offered in '01 but any of the X5s except the very very basic packages are still very luxurious and look up to date still!

@Michael3752 Chrysler doesnt have the best cars, but the HEMI is actually a really good engine that has been in production for the last few decades. Its been perfected throughout the years. It sounds great too. Notice I was comparing the sound, not the actual car

I have to say, this is a beautiful x5! Though if the price i saw on the floor is correct, 28,000 for a 2004 is ridiculous! I have a 2000 bmw 740il, it has the same options the x5 has in the inside of the car. I hope they can lower the price and sell it to someone who treats it well. Great review by the way!
