Father of Sa'ad (R), Abu Waqqas, was among the first Abyssinia migrant, who, then, taking 4 other sahaba, took a journey along the very famous sea trade route, all the way to Guang Dong of China. His qabr is still there. He is the reason why even during the Makkan period of the prophethood of prophet (s), Islam reached India, Srilanka, Bangla, Maldives, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, China, all these places.

Amazing series. However, a question for the ustaaz: he said that Saad (RA) didn’t want to do anything with the fitnah so he stepped completely aside. However, the Quran says clearly when there’s a group amongst you that transgresses, fight them till their transgression is taken care of. Is that not contrary to the position taken? I am particularly referring to the battle of siffeen where many other sahaba including Ammar bin Yasir (RA) took a very different view.

Saad Ibn Abi Waqqas is related to the Prophet ﷺ by his grandfather Wuyayb, who was the brother of Wahab (the Prophet ﷺ's maternal grandfather). In which case Saad's mother Hamnah bint Sufyan, and The Prophet's ﷺ mother Aminah bint Wahb, were first cousins, which would make Saad and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ second cousins. Isn't your mom's first cousin's CHILD your second cousin, because the two of you share the same great-grandparents?
