The location and settings makes it a very unique and fun experience. The city is beautiful, so add to it and this is one of those festivals that might not be the biggest but it stands out for what it offers.

@@APREACTS yes it seems very idyllic. I like smaller festivals, you can really sense the passion behind events like this. I recommend you guys to check out Karmøygeddon in Norway next year. Not to big festival which is located in Karmøy island Southwest in norway, absolutely stunning place. Usually awesome line up as well. Hope to see you there sometime 🤘

We had a terrible experience at Saarihelvetti this year so considering other options for 2025; What do people recommend? Tuska? Kuopiorock?

@@APREACTS We've enjoyed previous years but denied entry this year due to having a few drinks before arriving. Security indicated the organisers were very strict this year - and according to Reddit, we were not the only ones to experience this issue. No recourse, no response from the organisers after the event and no refund. We've seen people in terrible states at the event in previous years, but I guess that's acceptable if they bought the drinks onsite. We were not loud or causing trouble, just two older attendees enjoying the start of our vacation. We were served drinks on the ferry without issue - so being denied entry on the island itself felt very unfair. I've attended many festivals in Europe (both as a punter and a performer) and have never been treated in this way before.

While I'm a big festival enjoyer mostly, there's something really charming about smaller ones like Saarihelvetti. And the place where it's being held is definitely very unique! I hope you had a good time in Finland!

Finland really does these "in the middle of nowhere" festivals. I saw Kalmah in one of them this summer and there was one even further in the woods that had the legendary 80's band Peer Günt

Hit Dark River Festival in Kotka next year. Was excellent this year, a small festival but puts out with big bands! \,,/
