Excellent video. The commented descent is very well explained. The advice on lifts, different slopes, shadow conditions and crossings is useful. And yes, snowboarding from top to bottom without a break is a great feat for the muscles. I also find the descent via Spielboden more interesting and sporty than the crowded Morenia. Thank you and best regards from Saas-Fee.

You guys should do a collab with each other someday I know you did on the live stream but you should film a video going down the slopes together.

Nice run! The Panorama run was much narrower earlier this season (due to low snowfall) and the steep section you mention was really narrow. Signs at the start of the run recommended it was only for good skiers. Ally from Zenit reckoned it should have been designated black such was its difficulty. I also seem to remember it was marked as a black run when I first went to Saas-Fee 30 years ago.

@@Simonjburgess that's the problem...they're too far...2.5 hours to the nearest...and 2.5 hours return drive. I used to live 20 minutes from a ski area when I lived in New Mexico...Ski Apache

Simon, great video but I have a question where do you think the best place to mount a GoPro on your helmet would be cuz I’m having trouble with that. Also this just looks amazing I would love to ski here someday.
@Simonjburgess3 жыл бұрын
Hey Cameron, it’s a tough one as personal preference is the answer… I’ve stopped mounting it on my helmet and use the bitey mount for those POV shots. Previously it was mounted front and centre… although seen people get some good stuff from on top of their helmet

What is a name for that trail?
@Simonjburgess Жыл бұрын
This run is made up of a number of connecting trails. There are many different routes that you can connect to the bottom depending on your ability and conditions on the day. From memory I think my route was 18, 10a, 11, 11b, 11a, 4b

Tbf Kate I stayed firmly on the pistes here. I have a friend who works in the resort and seen some nice photos of nearby backcountry…. But there wasn’t much I saw during my visit…. That being said the resort really needed some snowfall when I was there.

All-being-well for the 2025 season I'll be going to Switzerland in the 2026 season, but I'm still to much a blue run beginner to even think of tackling a red, let alone those steep blacks.

Cool descent! 💪🏂 Like such top to bottom routes much. Think it would be interesting to add a schema of the route with complexity of segments. As I can identify from the video, it includes all categories from green to black, doesn't it?

Thanks for the feedback, I like the idea of showing the route. It is a really nice decent which has a few options in terms of run grade
