I think loads of people think it's mid because he's not just rapping but he's trying out different things, he was genuine, real and just honestly a brilliant experience. The best experience was when you went in without any preconceived notions. The singles didn't hit me well, but the full album from start to finish made me cry. His a story teller and this album feels like the last in a trilogy (Bucketlist, Care For Me, Few Good Things)

I loved Saba's flow on Soldier my fav song on the album. Circus Interlude is one of the best Interludes I've ever heard. 2012 is a standout track as well, I love the storytelling throughout this song. Saba's ability to make great 7 minute songs like Prom/King and Few Good Things is impressive. Overall 9/10 for me. Best Hip-Hop album of the year so far.

You're all super quick with your reviews, you guys are killing it as usual. Personally, I adore the soundscape of this album! Will be definitely having this project in my rotation, especially Still with 6LACK and Smino - that track is soo hypnotic and warm. Don't have anything else to say other than this is a super polished body of work, and can't wait to see where Saba goes next :)

FGT is my favorite album now. Excellent production, elite artist performance and great features. Also I relate to a lot of what Saba is saying so it resonates with me. AOTY so far imo.

Incredible, I love how diverse and experimental he got at points while keeping it cohesive at the same time. Only 3 tracks I wasn't feeling at first but the performance, writing, beat selection and sound scape are all on point you can feel how much soul he put into this project, easily 9/10 (amazing on all but features at great) for me

Curious, what three tracks did you not feel?
@justhaku92402 жыл бұрын
@@mralexsenior3880 Let me preface this by saying absolutely no shade if anybody liked these songs, even though it's obvious I feel like I have to say these are just my personal picks and i'm not saying it's objectively bad. Three listens now and it's dropped to 2 tracks and I can't say these won't grow on me as well 1. Fearmonger While the verses and lyrical content are great (like a majority of the album), I can't stand the hook 2. Come my way This was 50/50 for me, I went from absolutely loving a part to wanting to skip A question for you though, how do you feel about the album cover? I haven't seen much discussion on it

Make Believe got me to tear up. The introspection, the production, everything about it was heart wrenching yet beautiful. Like Ant and Luca said, it’s going to take something truly special to dethrone this album for me. It’s one of the best listening experiences I’ve ever had. It left me completely speechless to the point where all I could do was start it over and listen to it again. I’ve heard it start to finish 4 times already and each time, it’s only gotten more feeling and emotion out of me. Everything hits harder than the last time I heard it. This is an album that I could truly talk about for hours. It’s a 10/10 for me, and it could very well be my album of the year. Many other artists will drop heat, but I don’t see them dropping a complete package like Saba did. Maybe Kendrick will. Maybe Denzel will. But I doubt it. I can’t believe I’m doubting Kendrick Lamar, but this album has left me no choice. It’s that special to me.

Definitely my favourite album to come out so far this year, it had so much emotion to it and every track is amazing top to bottom. The production is so smooth with some nice bangers thrown in there too, Saba’s performance is fantastic as always and I loved the bit of experimenting he did with his sound on this album, absolutely fire project and fire review 🔥

When care for me came out I was finishing up college.Shit, I was coming home one weekends hearing about people in the neighborhood dying.it was like I was living one life in my college town but back home it was all back to hood shit...care for me, especially heaven all around me was on heavy rotation.... Fast forward to today I did a presentation to high school seniors talking about college and my career choice as well as growing and learning from negative environments to be better than that. Just because we come from a area with a bad reputation of violence doesn't mean it's filled with bad people.they too are talented and have the ability to do great things.... I shead tears listening to "make believe" because it's like everything hit me full circle and I was all of a sudden in a position where I could offer some encouragement to the youth. This album is amazing. Thanks for this review!
@utkarshkumar49732 жыл бұрын
Minor point but I feel the tracklist in itself was very well put together, going through the album first time, I couldn't realise when Come My Way ended and Still started, thats how smooth the songs flowed from one to another. Already one of the best albums of the year.
@erik_forsmoo2 жыл бұрын
My only gripe with this album is that the more hard-hitting tracks Stop That and Survivor's Guilt don't have as much replay value, simply because the production is kind of basic. If the drums were just a little bit more knocking these songs would've made for a better change of pace in an otherwise somber tracklist, but the content of the verses definitely makes up for it. Besides that I think this album is incredible, and it's definitely gonna be one of my most replayed albums this year!
@pt-yt83222 жыл бұрын
same thing i was thinking, i think he added those songs just to show like hey, i can still rap, they're not trash songs, but i dont think they have the same replay value as others

@@MercRogers care for me is a one of a kind album simply because of the context and story. There is not another album like it in terms of each song feeling like a connected chapter to every song that comes after. Musically though, Saba brings in more features, still discusses great topics, experiments with sounds and flows, uses samples and provides i lot more diverse emotions in this one. Still this is a good album nothing to takeaway from his skills as an emcee his storytelling was sensational and his singing ability went at a high level.
