I can relate. I'm writing a story, and sometimes it seems like my characters have minds of their own.

So agree!!! Yes you have the planned story arc yet instead of controlling them, they control you. That's one of the amazing part of being a writer. Your character's reaction shocked you.

Given the comments I see and few people I've talked to about the books. I feel like I'm the only mid 20's guy/guy in general out there reading them, haha. Is that true? I don't remember how I came across the 1st one. But I decided to get it out of my local library at one point and I'm enjoying the series so far. I'm really looking forward to the movie when it comes out and hope it's good. Cause movie adaptation of book are usually straight up black and white (no pun intended), meaning it's either good or bad.

I’m reading Ember in the Ashes directly after Children of Blood and Bone and I’m really annoyed at how similar they are and how many elements Adeyemi has implemented ‘too close to the bone’.
@maritareads52296 жыл бұрын
Oh no I was afraid of that cause I read somewhere she was inspired by Ember. Is it worth reading anyway?
@rachaelmarie31946 жыл бұрын
Martha Kajwang' Still absolutely worth reading! Here’s my review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2nYn2iHq8l9abM I’ve also done an Ember read with me vlog where I bring up all the points of similarity.
I 100% agree. I love both books for what they have done, and children of blood and bone will always have a place in my heart. But she even took blood and bone from the book ember in the ashes lol. Both are my fav books but Tomi def took a lot! It's more than inspiration, it's more like copy and paste. Especially when tomi wrote the part of Zeli getting cut in her back when Sabaa wrote the same scene first lol. No one else talked about it so seeing your comment was really relatable.

I'm finally seeing the face behind the words of Children of Blood and Bone! Tomi is such a nice person and Sabaa's and Tomi's personalities mesh so great! *Btw guys, if you are interested, I am a new booktuber. You're welcome to check out my channel and some feedback will be greatly appreciated.*
