It's Veterans Day here in the US, so what better song to react to than Sabaton's 1916. The production quality of Sabaton is absolutely spectacular, you can tell they really care about telling a story. The attention to detail is amazing, and I absolutely loved this song.
Thanks to everyone who has served, for your service. A perfect day for Sabaton.

Good Morning Bruce, thanks for checking this out. Love that Sabaton including Mikkey and Phil from Motorhead in this video.( the 2 older gentlemen in the doorway). The guy holding Lemmy's picture is Eddie Rocha, Sabaton tour manager, and former Motorhead tour manager. Once you get more familiar with Sabaton, you will see a lot of references in this video to other songs. Not only a tribute to Motorhead, but a tribute to soldiers throughout history. That was a cello being played over the credits. Performed by Tina Guo, she has worked with the band several times. Lyrics are pretty self explanatory, IMO.

One of my favorite Sabaton Songs. When it gets closer to Christmas you for sure need to react to Christmas Truce by Sabaton.

It's strange that I missed that video because I usually don't miss your videos or any Sabaton reaction that shows up in my KZbin feed. And most show up there pretty fast because KZbin knows what I watch.

@@TheMindofBruce Hello. Lovley reaction as always 😊👍 I got an idea of what you should do if you feel like it! And that is to react to all Sabaton's songs in all the albums they have! What I mean is to go all in with Sabaton, Even if it will take time as you react to other music too!😊 But it makes absolutely nothing if it will take time if you decide to do this journey! I am sure you would have loved it and not regretted it! 😉 I want to recommend songs to you!😎 You can skip the ones you have already reacted to if you want! The valley of death Dreadnought Soldier of heaven Stormtroopers Steel commanders Kingdom come Defense of Moscow Fields of verdun A ghost in the trenches Great war official video Devil dogs 82nd all the way Seven pillars of wisdom All guns blazing The last battle Shiroyama 7734 Man of war Hearts of iron Killing ground The Carolean's Prayer Long live the king Metal ripper White death Coat of arms The final solution The price of a mile Cliffs of Gallipoli Metal Crüe Nightchild Back in control In the name of god Metal machine Purple heart Wolf pack Remember that it's perfectly okay to show emotions and cry when listening to music in reaction videos, etc. I love your channel ❤️ Sabaton has been my favorite band since they were formed 1999 in Falun here in Sweden!🇸🇪 Warm and kind greetings from a big Sabaton fan in northern Sweden (Västerbotten) 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎

@@TheMindofBruce The songs I suggested are from different albums with Sabaton! You don't have to react to the songs you've already reacted to, Unless you want to of course! You decide! It should be fairly easy to find each album with accompanying songs on either KZbin or Spotify! KZbin should have all the videos for all Sabaton's songs! Animated, official videos etc! If you need help/tips, There are many of us in the comment field who can help you if you need help during this journey 😊 It will be very interesting to see and hear what you think of all their songs! If you do this journey!😊 And then when all the albums are finished, Please tell us which is your favorite album!😊🙏 Sabaton is also working on a new album! 😊 Warm and friendly greetings from Johan and Northern Sweden 😎🇸🇪🇸🇪😎

Thank you for the reaction Mr. Deeble! Now here's a little something I first noticed when this came out (I studied history for 10 years in university): There's a scene when the crowd comes across a seemingly out of place early 20th century ecru coloured convertible standing abandoned in middle of the road, the driver apathic beghind the wheel - this is the car that Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, Heir to the Austro-Hungarian Royal and Imperial Throne and his morganatic wife Sophie Chotek, Duchess Hohenberg, bled to death in on June 28 of 1914. This little detail essentially is the pale horse death rode in on and set the world on fire in the Apocalypse of the Old World, burning Empires to ashes or bled them white into empty shells of their former glory sitting on the smouldering corpses of millions. Among the ton of little details and callbacks in this excellent video this, to me, is the most disturbing, seemingly banal, detail in that it carries such weight solely by implication. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz

Yes, terrible. My wife's grandfather was 14 when he lied about his age to join up and was sent to the front, and he only got out because of dumb luck: he was wounded and ended up in the same field hospital where his father was being treated. There followed letters between his parents, and then between his mum and the War Office, where she sent proof of his age and he was brought home. He never spoke about his experiences. This is another of Sabaton's that makes me cry. RIP Lemmy, and let's raise a glass to Birmingham, birthplace of metal.

Thanks for checking that out. I know it was written by Lemmy but it fits perfectly with Sabaton imho, I feel like they explain military history in an accessible manner without glorifying war. This song reminds me of their older song, The price of a mile, I don't know if you've heard it, if you haven't give it a listen. It's about trench warfare in Belgium during WWI. Cheers and thanks for the words of hope!

I did some researching and found that all the names of the soldiers, knights and Spartans in the end were real people. Many of the soldiers were Medal of Honor, Silver Star, Victoria Cross or Croix de Guerre recipients. The soldier pulling himself out of the mud, at first I thought he was a member of "The Smoking Snakes" (Força Expedicionária Brasileira, FEB, nicknamed Cobras Fumantes), but doing some more research with the patch on his shoulder as well as his helmet, that's Sgt Henry Johnson of the 15th New York National Guard Regiment, aka "The Harlem Hellfighters". Medal of Honor recipient and recipient of French Croix de Guerre avec Palme, France's highest award for valor. The Medal of Honor was awarded to him in 2015. Sgt. Henry Johnson is "one of the five bravest American soldiers in the war." Theodore Roosevelt Jr. in his book "Rank and File: True Stories of the Great War" The Asian soldier with the cocked-hat, that's a Nepalese Gurka named Havildar Gurung (per the credits) who earn the Victoria Cross in the Burma campaign off WWII. Sgt Awal Nur, who did a secret mission over the Himalaya. Lt. Audie Murphy, Sgt. Alvin York are both medal of honor recipients from WWI (York) and WWII (Murphy). I also notice a soldier with the Croix Lorraine on what looks like a French flag arm band, meaning he was a member of the 'Forces françaises libres' forces in WWII. Doing some reading I found out that a large number of French colonial troops from territories such as Chad had joined with the 'Forces françaises libres'. I suspect that soldier is Lt Comba, but I can't find anything on him. As I've been working my way through the names listed in the credits and found another one: Private George Stringer, Manchester, Awarded the Victoria Cross at the Battle of Es Sinn in Mesopotamia. Capt. Dobson, 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion, Killed on 9 July 1916 in Flanders.

July 1st 1916. The First Newfoundland Regiment "Blue Puttees" Readies themself in their Trenches following the opening day of the Battle of the Somme. As night Fell, They were tasked with pushing into Beaumont Hamel. Partially commanding them was my Late Great Great Grandfather, a Lieutenant. 1070 men went over the top that Night. The Quote the Song "Recruiting Sergeant" by Great Big Sea "The Call came from London for the Last July Drive: To the Trenches with the Regiment, Prepare yourselves to die. The Rollcall next morning, Just a handful survived." Of those 1070 Men, My Great Great Grandfather and 66 came back alive. 14 would later die from their wounds.
