American logistics man.... People ask why the US has the best military and there is one reason. They can move their shit around the planet faster than anyone else, and they have mastered the art of sustained armor assault. No other nation can bring nearly as much military power to the table in the same amount of time the US can. Basically, the US may not have the "best" tanks or the "best" rifles or even the "best" infantrymen. What they do have is the ability to get them there en masse before the enemy can. The "Panzer Battalion" doesn't happen without a shitload of other stuff happening.
@striky2110 жыл бұрын
That's because the US military is supported by the Europeans, There's a reason for NATO and that reason is for us to fight your wars for you. The US carried 2 wars alone, and big surprise, bot Irak and Vietnam kicked their ass, get your facts straight.

For those who want to know. this is about the Gulf War, and the later Invasion. Not the later occupation. One of the few times we ever got to see the US army take it's gloves off and square up with another nationstate's military. Let alone the last time we got to see actual honest to god tank duels. The Iraqis used tactics they'd developed during the iran/iraq war. Where they faced some of the simmilar (though older) weapons, due to iran having US surplus from when it threw out the shah. The US not only had better tech, but more importantly it had a very different playbook. The IA found itself quickly outmanuvered, surrounded, bottled up, and cut off. Their troops in many cases killed their own commanders and political officers for refusing to retreat, and their soviet made MBTs couldn't even target the faster moving american tanks that were twice their weight.

A tank is an armoured fighting vehicle intended as a primary offensive weapon in front-line ground combat. Tank designs are a balance of heavy firepower, strong armour, and good battlefield mobility provided by tracks and a powerful engine; usually their main armament is mounted in a turret. They are a mainstay of modern 20th and 21st century ground forces and a key part of combined arms combat.

I like the Leo 2 just as much as the Abrams, and its definitely the better choice for the countries that use it. But the Abrams can be just as effective for an army specialized for its use. Its communication and command electronics are likely second to none which makes it ideal for an army like the US that gets such a hard on for artillery and air support.

I read that a RPG-29 penetrated challenger's lower plate, and destroyed the tank killing the crew, and somewhere else penetrated the frontal armour making the driver lose a foot.

The Americans renamed it "Shock and Awe", but since that word translates to "Lightning War" and they used Rommel's tactics, We can say both phrases apply (it's about Iraq, by the way.)

To my knowledge, the Abrams uses an armor based on Chobham, but it is somewhat different. Dorchesterarmor is not significantly better, although the TES and TUSK systems both tanks use should give them pretty much the exact same defensive capabilities.

The differences between the various NATO Main battle tanks (Leo2, Abrams, Challanger 2, Leclerc etc) is too small to make any major difference. And the tank crews of NATO member nations are also comparable in terms of training. The winner of an Abrams vs Leopard 2 match up would be decided by tactics, strategy, support (logistics, Air, Arty) and numbers.

I think I read about that incident. If I remember correctly, the plate that shows a mark of the Allied nations to friendly forces on their scanners (whatever they're called) had fallen off or blown off in battle, and an M1A2 from the U.S. mistook it as one of the T-72s that had charged INTO the tank formation in a suicide rush to stall the Allies.

Pazerkampfwagen more literally means armored war vehicle. Remember, the term tank comes from world war 1 where in preparation for their use in the field, the allies transported the equipment in crates labeled 'tank' as in water cistern to throw off enemy intelligence and the name stuck.

ale T-95 byś nie uwalił :D po za tym nie zawsze byś ustrzelił t-54 bo jednak czołgi rusków były skuteczne. Po za tym Abrams jest ch*jowy
@Voinar01011 жыл бұрын

@SSProgamer11 жыл бұрын
Powiedziałbym że to bardziej zależy od załogi, który czołg wygra. Abrams i Leopard mają swoje zalety i wady.

I long for the glory days. My father looked pretty cool in his BDUs standing shoulder to shoulder with other European-Americans (even if there was like two or three less than uniform individuals). I am weary of these self haters and traitors who think humiliation of our Nation is great. The confused individuals allowed into the miltary, and people who truly love our Nation who can't qualify because of poor records that are largely damaged as a result for standing for that which is right. Even when it means cancelation and legal repercussions... remain faithful to defending what is right. Combat Political Correctness. God. Nation. Family.
