It is perhaps their most chilling song. Someone once pointed out that the guitar in the song is played to resemble the sounds of the trains puffing as they arrive into the camps.

Fun fact: They don't play this very often, usually they reserve it only for the tours to Germany or Poland. Heck they didn't even want to originally include it in an album, they only wanted it to be played on tours. Sabaton is that respectful to the millions of dead.

In my opinion this is one of the strongest Sabaton songs. I love the way they contradict the sad and depressing lyrics with this super happy sounding melodie of the chorus and the instrumental parts. It makes everything more powerful and deeper. When you think about the people who were keep on living their happy lives, while their neighbours got deported to die in a concentration camp. And the nazis that created their empire on the back of those who have been declared guilty for everything that was bad. And the officers at the concentration camps, who did their everyday work, that consits of torturing and killing people, and then, after work met with friends in a pub.

A&P-REACTS to save u some research: "Historic fact: The Kriegsmarine wolfpack Hecht discovered and attacked the Allied convoy ON-92 heading west across the Atlantic on May 11th, 1942 sinking 7 ships. U-569 makes contact on the 11th and leads U-94 and U-124 to the convoy. The boats attack in the night and U-124 sinks 4 ships in 2 approaches, U-94 sinks 1 and U-569 gets a hit on a ship. The next night the other U-boats reach the convoy but only U-94 is successful, sinking 2 ships in 2 approaches. U-406 misses an escort due to torpedo failure. Then contact is lost in bad weather. The USS Destroyer Gleaves and USCGC Ingham are part of the escort along with the British rescue vessel Bury. Bury is the only ship equipped with a HF/DF unit."

I was bummed a lot because I was on the verge of getting to make a living with the animation videos, the 3D stuff and such had millions of views and I had JUST gotten partnered like a month earlier but eh... after that I more or less left animating and focused more on studying music and writing songs and realized it was a far greater passion than animation ever was and now I have over 100 songs written and ready to record, including a 2+hour metal symphony so... it ended up perhaps being a good thing :D also sorry you sat through that, I haven't watched the video back ever since I made it, I made it in the heat of the moment and it's pretty cringy xD

I ask simply out of curiosity. Below I will post a comment I sometimes share, and wondered if you had ever been told about a couple of aspects of the events under Hitler's genocidal reign? *[And yes, very sad for all who suffered during those times]* Its was pure brutality. Absolutely. But let me share with you what rabbis know but rarely ever speak of... The German government under Hitler offered cash money for individuals and families to leave Germany, up to $1300 equivalent US dollars today for families. They were told Madagascar is a good destination, or some part of the UK.. The Jewish people were ready to take the money and leave, many had their bags packed BUT their chief rabbis said "NO! We will stay, and the blood of our sons and our cripples would grease the wheels towards the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine" (cripples was an old term for handicapped) (as these and some of their sons were the ones they expected would die...little did they know..) So, the rabbis all told their synagogues to refuse the travel money offered by the government. Obedience to the rabbinical order was a religious virtue. There have been books written about this, in six or seven languages but publishers oddly have avoided printing English translations of these books. There is a very respected and fairly high ranking rabbi in NYC who refuses to keep quiet about this topic. He speaks plainly to his people about it, but most do not as they will not allow criticism of War era German rabbis to suffer blame in the horrific events that followed their partially greedy, and partially naïve decision making during that time. The rabbi in NYC, (I'd have to look his name up again) also taught that if the Jewish people living in a country not their own would live as the Amish, no attempts to corner the markets in certain areas or industries, and avoid politics, political finance, or exerting societal influence around them, then the Jewish people would have been primarily ignored and not hated. Avoiding these kinds of tragedies which by the way was not isolated to 1930s Germany, but was basically a pattern they had suffered so many times it's difficult count them all. Whether regionally occurring or on a national level such as in the German time of the Third Reich. Hence the Jewish saying "Jews never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity" Research what I have said here. It is 100% tragically correct. But the genocidal Eugenics was indeed, as always, from the darkness of man's heart.
