Remember that this is not an official Sabaton video, it is a fan made one. The Official Sabaton video for the song is lyric video. The song isn't taking sides it's just reporting what happened and does so with more delicacy and understanding than most would. "Country in depression, nation in despair, one man seeking reasons everywhere" is such an important way to understand it. If we want to stop such atrocities happening again then we need to understand why they happened in the first place.

I'm tired of hearing this. Pretty much every single Sabaton song picks a side they tell the story from, except for rare few like Price of a Mile for example. You can't seriously be arguing that when you're singing of your side as the heroes and the other side the enemy, that you're not taking a side. The neutrality of Sabaton in my opinion comes from them having covered many sides of the same conflicts, many different countries etc. But to claim that none of the songs take a side is simply untrue.

I think by not taking sides its ment that they also have sogs about German soldiers such as The last battle, Hearts of iron, Wehrmacht, Ghost division etc.. without blaming them for the war. It just describes things how they were. For example into the fire is about Vietnam war and napal or firestorm about carpet bombing German citties. For some reason, none did reactions to those two last ones as well...

I love this song, but it's hard listening to at the same time. 😢 Very important matter. Never forget and always stand up to those who says that this is "fake". The footage from Schindler's list fits well with the lyrics. Great reaction, btw!🤘

I never saw this fan music video actually, only the lyric one. I have to say the footage added makes it both quite a bit more powerful (in a direct way) and a lot harder to watch. (especially when the hook kicks in and you see the chimney). Good reaction (if you can say that with such a piece) though, keep up your content :)

There is some live versions, I think the best version is from Krakow. Sabaton makes it acoustic and you can hear on Joakim's voice what his opinions are. It's very emotional

I got to see Sabaton in Cincinnati back in 2022, and when this song started, you could nearly hear a pin drop. Sabaton did right by those who were wronged.

Two of my grandpas grandparents were jews in Ukraine during the German invasion of the USSR. They didn’t even make it to a camp, they were executed in a field by a mobile killing group and buried in a ditch never to be found again. It really hit me hard when I heard my grandpa say that he found some solace in the fact that they at least got a quick death rather than withstanding the cruelty of the camps. This is a part of history that should never be forgotten, otherwise it’s bound to be repeated. Also if I’m not mistaken, this is the only song Sabaton refuse to perform in it’s original version live. If they perform this it’s a much slower accoustic version, since they said that they don’t want people headbanging at a concert to this

Sabaton don't take sides on their songs that describe horrors or heroics of war. Such as Ghost division, Stalingrad, defence of moscow, midway, Carolous rex attack of the dead men or winged hussars. However there are songs such as this one, and "in the name of God" they do clearly pick sides. Like in "in the name of God" Joakim sounds like he has scorn for terrorists. Meanwhile in this song "the final solution" It is quite clear he chose sides. And i respect that.

You should have a look at the cooperation between Nanowar of Steel and Joakim Brodèn of Sabaton, called "Pasadena 1994". I think that is hilarious and it shows a totally different side of Joakim. :D

This is not Sabaton's video. Their official video is more accurate. Sabaton are very careful not to take a stand at all and in the case of this song they are even more careful to do it in a way that really tells the terrible thing that happened. Watch Sabaton Historie channel on KZbin about how difficult this song was and everything they tell.

Germany has done terrible things. It still fills me with physical pain to this day when I think about what my country did in the past. The Germans of today are no longer responsible for the deeds, but we bear the responsibility that these events will not be forgotten and will never be repeated anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, the world has lost the warning voices of contemporary witnesses and a lot of nonsense is being spread on the Internet. Let's hope that people not only in Germany but also in the USA or England learn from their dark past and that something like this never happens again. I wonder when we'll finally learn that we're all the same.

@@JammersMetalMischief Nobody says you have to like or dislike, agree or disagree with what anyone says. The world is comprised of opinions as unique as the people. That being said, censorship of anyone you dislike is not the way. We just got out of a time where countless people were being censored, losing their voices online, even doxxed and threatened, simply because they don't agree on politics or "translated microaggressions." Censorship is what the Nazis and the Communist regimes did; it's practically the modern day book burning. Too many times have I heard lunatics claim to be "open minded and tolerant" only to be as close minded and bigoted as they accuse everyone and anyone else of being. My grandfather fought and killed Nazis; actual Nazis, radical fanatics in the Waffen-SS and Gestapo who were devoted to Hitler's fantasies. The irony of today is that the radical fanatics wearing uniforms and marching in the streets killing people and setting stores on fire all in the name of a political narrative are doing the exact same thing the Nazis did, and somehow according to these fanatics, it's everyone else who is a Nazi.
