This has to be one of my favourite Albums Sabaton has EVER produced, to kick it off with SPARTA what a way to wake every part of your body up rip your clothes off down to your Camouflage boxers and join Leonidas to fight some pesky Persians, then the middle with The Lost Battalion to give it that mid order punch, before the blows from The Last stand and to finish off with Song 11, The Last Battle, what an EPIC list of epicness

Does anybody else have a personal favorite "last stand" from history? Mine is the Battle of Camarón. 65 members of the french foreign legion protected their stronghold against over 3000 soldiers from the Mexican army. After all but 5 were killed in the conflict and they ran out of ammo, the remaining French troops fixed their bayonets, ran out the door and charged the overwhelming forces killing a few of them before they were eventually gunned down

Dunno about favorite, but one that always comes to mind is the Battle of Kamenica/Cegar during the first Serbian war of independence, due to my heritage as a quarter Serb via my biological father. 8,000 Serbs against 20,000+ Ottomans, ending in one of the biggest eff you moments possible when the main Serb commander, Stevan Sindelic, blew their powder stores when their trench was overrun by Ottoman infantry, wiping out both his remaining forces and nearly 10,000 of the Turks.

Tiger 314's dash out of Berlin. After Hitler's death, one of the Third Reich's last operating King Tigers, 314 and another King Tiger, Tiger 100, were tasked with regrouping with remaining German armor and trying to break through Soviet defenses out of Berlin. 314 would be credited with destroying 39 (accounts vary) Soviet tanks, in exchange for Tiger 100 which was disabled and abandoned. Tiger 314 would cross the Weidendammer bridge and reach Humboldthain Park with a small group of surviving vehicles, only to be disabled by a German anti-tank mine. Tiger 314 is considered by some to be Germany's last Tiger II.

what kind of petty fuss is this? You fell under Hitler in the 40s and only the Russians had to liberate Europe from the fascist plague. And you all remember petty battles. who are great in victories are the Russians. They defeated Napoleon, Hitler, and several centuries earlier they defeated the Ottoman Empire in wars more than once. Mogolotatars were expelled from the lands, etc.

I love the Sparta song so much! It is as if the spirit of the ancient Spartans is awakening for a new battle! I imagine how sandaled in the ashes of the Peloponnese the women send forth the wars, swathed in armor and helmets... The sun burns hot... The battle will be soon and then that phrase will be uttered When a Trachinian ambassador of Xerxes warns the Spartans that the Persian arrows will be so numerous that they will cover the sun, the Spartan Dienecius retorts: “Good! So we will fight in the shadows.” Very inspiring music, explodes in our hearts! Thanks Sabaton and especially Joakim!

if the 4th "song" is an actual true thing that happened, then that goes to show just how fucking good people, especially the youth, have it today. if they think they're so hot shit, read them this. tell them that this is a REAL diary written by a REAL soldier that was killed and was never identified. thus, they will be forever be forgotten to history; the only thing keeping any form of memory alive being his or her diary (there were, in fact, actually female soldiers who smuggled themselves in...and sadly met the same fate.).
