Um, I'm a grandmother of 5 and just recently found Sabaton and jumped in with both feet after seeing 1916. Love them! Just wish I kad known about them a few months earlier when they were touring last year. 😢

Sabaton also have a history channel where they go in depth about the history and a little about the song itself i recommend you react to it the red baron has 2 history videos about it in 2 parts

And there's a tank in front of the drum kit on one of their tours. lol I just learned of Sabaton a few months ago and have been stupidly hooked since. Joakim's (Yo a keem) voice is so perfectly suited to the material. He and Par are phenomenal song writers and the skill levels of the entire band are perfect together.

Actually, the entire drum riser is a tank...and they have TWO of them, one named Audie after Audie Murphy and one named Walter. There is a cool interview with Hannes van Dahl where he discusses it.

The red baron will always be the one and only ace in flight fighting history... no one will ever beat his record of 80 kills.... in modern history, thats honestly just impossible since doing dogfights today is just none existing..... A legend... best fighter pilot that ever existed

Thanks for reacting to my favorite Sabaton song. Aside from being a great pilot, Manfred von Richthofen is also famous because his death is shrouded in mystery. It has never been entirely clear who shot him down. He was still able to land his plane, was still alive when soldiers found him, and they could hear his last word "kaputt" ("broken" in english). He was buried in france with full military honors.

I saw one of their videos where the organ was the front halve of a Fokker Tri-Plane,red of course.

My personal favourite part of sabaton songs is the pure attention to detail, in ths song i could name at least 5 different things most people miss, like how at the start he mentioned the flying circus, this was the elite air division commanded by the red baron when he was in his 20s and their name came from the colours they painted their planes, his, notably being red. another is "in the game to win the gambler rolls the dice" this refers to how when a pilot went into air combat, the expectation of returning was 50/50, and how those 80 allies payed the price in the line after that. its overall a really interesting band, and ive loved listening to them for over 2 years now.

Sabaton are modern battle bards singing about the achievements, suffering, bravery and sacrifice in history. To name a few, Oficial video of "To hell and back" is certainly a portratal of suffering (lyric video lacks the impact) Then we have Animated STORY videos like "No bullets fly" giving background then music followed by conclusion (this particular one hits deep), they certainly pack a punch. Or live concert like "40:1" from poland or "En livstid i krig" live from Göteborg Sweden (in Swedish so subtitles recommended) where whole audience go all in.
