========= The Unkillable Soldier LYRICS ==========
Into the fire through trenches and mud
Son of Belgium and Ireland with war in his blood
Leading the charge into hostile barrage
By design, he was made for the frontline
Studied law, with a thirst for war
Fought in Africa, wanted more
Back in Europe then straight to France
He’s joining the allied advance
Through the Somme and the Devil’s Wood
All the battles that he withstood
Born a soldier enjoyed the war
He always kept coming for more
Never die, shot through the eye
Never surrender however they try
How they try, shot through the eye
He’ll never die
At the edge of madness, in a time of sadness
An immortal soldier, finds his home
Proven under fire, over trench and wire
No fear of death he’s unshakeable
In the battles, when he was shot
Kept on fighting, and never stopped
In Arras, Cambrai, Passchendaele
Ignoring his wounds he prevailed
Save the day, he’ll never stray
Facing the foes that are coming his way
Come his way, he’ll never stray
Saving the day
At the edge of madness, in a time of sadness
An immortal soldier, finds his home
Proven under fire, over trench and wire
Forged for the war he’s unbreakable
At the edge of madness, he will show no sadness
Never broken, he’ll be back for more
Proven under fire, over trench and wire
No fear of death he’s unshakeable
Edge of madness!
No fear of death, he is forged for the war,
he will always be coming for more

White death had the most confirmed kills. He couldn't let his countries surrendering stop him from fighting the Soviets alone. Over 500 confirmed kills. That Nazi who fought destroyed 6 Soviet tanks in his first fight with a scout vehicle. Would later single handedly charge a combined American and British division who reported they were being attacked by multiple divisions and retreated/gave up the fortified town in. To a single tank without any infantry backing them up.

Because the current state of Hollywood is that it's been flooded with regurgitated-for-decades garbage from Marvel and DC, them having aggressive marketing campaigns and literally not giving any breathing space to something new or creative. Because Marvel and DC are deemed safe sail and everything else outside of them is risky project. Even Avatar (that movie with blue tall aliens) was at its time seen as very risky project by CEOs of Hollywood because of Marvel's and DC's lobby being so strong. I also think that history is goldmine for awesome movie material and story of Adrian would be so awesome to watch on cinema screens.

@@theleva7 Jack Churchill was born in Colombo in British Ceylon, which is modern-day Sri Lanka sure, but his family moved to Dormansland, Surrey, shortly after he was born. and then they moved to British Hong Kong about 5 years after that. and then back to the UK 7 years after that (specifically the Isle of Man, until he graduated high school [6 years] and went to Sandhurst). its more accurate to say he was from Surrey, the Isle of Man and Hong Kong (the 3 places he was raised) than to say he was from Sri Lanka.

Songs like this, about legendary soldiers, make me wish I had more time with my Grandfather, before he died, so I could have the stories behind the pictures my mom has, and more then the few stories he told her. He was in the US Airborne in WW2, fought in Italy (His Homeland) with the extended family against Mussolini, jumped into France during D-Day, evaded two SS officers upon landing in a French town, stole a German motorcycle, which the Airborne let him keep until the end of the war, jumped into Belgium during Market Garden, was encircled in Bastogne, and had an affair with the daughter of a high up German who was so mad, we still have the paper work of the restraining order. We all still miss him, but at least he has my Grandmother with him now, as she died back in January.

Shot in the face, head, stomach, ankle, leg, hip, and ear; lost his left eye; survived two plane crashes; tunnelled out of a prisoner-of-war camp; and tore off his own fingers when a doctor didn't want to amputate them. Socilaism seeks to make everyone the same. In countries where individualism is valued you get men like Jack Churchill, Lauri Torni (Larry Thorne), Adrian Carton de Wiart, Lewis Burwell "Chest" Puller, Leo Majors, Napoleon Bonaparte, Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, George Washington, Isaac Brock, Alessandro dal Borro, Benjamin Lewis Salomon, Oda Nobunaga, Digby Tatham-Warter, etc... All of these mighty men had one thing in common. They didn't let socialist losers tell them who they were, how to think, or what they should do. They valued individuality.

@@dragoneye6229 First, I assume you mean Communism, one brand of Socialism. Second, we don't know what an achieved Communist state would be, simply because we have no point of reference. The revolution always seems to get stuck at the 'dictatorship of the proletariat', the proletariat being represented (very fairly, of course) by a party or a person. Those states have leaders and decorations, both inherently incompatible with full equality. Communist Cuba was known for its baseball achievements, the USSR for its chess players, the latter also had scientists outpacing the Americans in the Space Race. Third, you think feudal Japan valued individualism? Thank you. Just in case I needed additional evidence you don't actually know what you're talking about, I consider it duly delivered. The greats of history have just that in common: they're great at... something. Leadership, tactics, endurance, athletic ability, language, science, whatever. Society will exploit these talents, or they'll muscle their way in. That's just how it goes. I wish regimes as idealistic as what you describe existed; there is no state in the world that would discover useful talent and squash it rather than putting it to use. The kindest assessment I can give your comment is that it's not good historical practice. Abandoning restraint, but not reason, I'd call it straight up disrespectful.

So basically Adrian Carton de Wiart got shot through the eye. Survived. Got shot in the back of his head, but survived again because the bullet didn't hit his spine. Gets shot again, loses his left hand. Gets severely wounded so many times that the nurses started preparing his personal pyjiamas for when he returned once again. He got severely wounded and nearly killed at least 8 times. At last, he died. At the age of 83, due to old age. What a god.

I made a D&D character for a Strahd campaign, a Ravenfolk Forge Cleric who had gone up against Strahd several times with different parties and lost 5 times before the story picks up, with him losing an eye, part of his beak, his right arm, left leg and part of the right side of his chest, with those things being patched up with his skills as a Forge Cleric, replacing the arm, leg and part of his chest with mechanical parts, giving himself a metal tipped beak and creating an eyepatch with is first company's logo on it. I thought that that character was pushing the edge of what would be acceptable or believable. Then I found out about Adrian Carton de Wiart, an actual countryman of mine (or at least half) and was like "Christ my character is a lightweight compared to what this guy did in real life!" He was 20. Hi met his death at Arras after leaving the trench he captured with a box full of hand grenades that he and his Sergeant Major used to fight off a German counter attack. They were successful, and as he was admiring his work, a single shot from a sniper hit him in the heart. He was 21. A Merchant in Peace, but a Warrior in War. He has no known grave.

Man Sir Adrian Carton De Wiart is the true definition of the word Badass. There's simply no other way to describe him. All the shit he did in WW 1 was insane, but he also did some crazy shit in the inter-war years and achieved even crazier shit in WW 2. Truly a man that loved war and was, as the song says, unkillable. Btw fucking amazing song as always.

So everyone know him because of one eye and one hand but what about this situatuon: En route home via French Indochina, Carton de Wiart stopped in Rangoon as a guest of the army commander. Coming down stairs, he slipped on coconut matting, fell down, broke several vertebrae, and knocked himself unconscious. He was admitted to Rangoon Hospital where he was treated. Just what? This man is an absolute legend he even survive this in his old age. I have no words.

in an attack upon an enemy fort at Shimber Berris, Carton de Wiart was shot in the face, losing his left eye. He served on the Western Front from 1915, commanding three infantry battalions and a brigade. He was also seriously wounded seven times, losing his left hand in 1915. During the Second Battle of Ypres, the Germans launched an artillery barrage in which Carton de Wiart's left hand was shattered. According to his autobiography, Happy Odyssey, he tore off two fingers when the doctor refused to amputate them.

A great song. As a WW1 fanatic, I really listen to her wonderfully. Interesting song idea: about Fr. Świeykowski, who took the office of mayor during the battles near Gorlice. He helped all civilians in need, demanded as much food and other important articles as possible from the Austrian and Russian troops. He was supposed to be decorated by the Austrian government but refused. His life was saved by his monkey, whom he loved very much, and he himself saved a very old painting from the church which was completely destroyed during the offensive. He himself had problems after falling from a horse (he was paralyzed on one side of his face). This did not stop him from helping people in the hard times of the war. Greetings from Poland KuK Armee korporal
