Audie Murphy was one of the most decorated US soldiers of World War II. He gained quite the reputation during his service and was regarded as a brave and daring soldier. Following his service and a battle with PTSD which resulted in a prescription drug addiction, he went on to become a Hollywood star. Audie Murphy is a true Texan and American hero. Stood his ground, fought through the hell of Sicily, at Anzio, the hell of Monte Cassino and the Italian front, Southern and Eastern France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany. Lost many friends, wounded numerous times, fell ill to malaria and other ailments and came out a humbled man who was the most decorated soldier not only the 3rd Infantry Division, but the entire United States Army.
