Poland is a country that has gone through a lot over the years. But we have always fought for our own, we are a nation that can overcome fear if necessary and fight for what we love. For many, Poland is just a country, but they do not know our history. For example, so many times have foreigners heard about Polish death camps, no, these camps were only in occupied Poland. When we hear Polish camps, we feel like crying. POLAND ❤ 🇵🇱

During the Warsaw Uprising, the Germans committed numerous war crimes and massacres of civilians. The greatest of these is the slaughter of the district of Warsaw - Wola. On August 5-7, 1944, 30,000 people were murdered. up to 65,000 Polish men, women and children. Similar things happened in every struggling district of Warsaw. The Germans showed no mercy to anyone. It doesn't matter if it was a conquered barricade or a field hospital full of civilians. Everyone died. Out of approximately 150-180 thousand of civilian residents of Warsaw who died during the Warsaw Uprising, at least 1/3 were victims of executions carried out by German police and military formations. In August 1944, as a result of the bombing and shelling of St. John of God at ul. Bonifraterska, about 300 mentally ill patients, injured civilians and insurgents, as well as nurses and doctors were killed. The hospital was clearly marked with the symbols of the Red Cross [166]. On August 20, the German air force bombed the insurgent hospital at ul. Długa 13/15 (The Field Cathedral of the Polish Army). From 120 to 200 people died - including nearly 60 staff members. The hospital was clearly marked with the symbols of the Red Cross [167]. As a result of air bombardments and artillery fire, about 60 people (including 40 wounded) died in the hospital of Sister Elżbietanek at ul. Goszczyński (August 27-29). The hospital was clearly marked with the symbols of the Red Cross [71]. On August 30, the German air force bombed the Ujazdowski Hospital at ul. Chełmska 19, which was clearly marked with the flag of the Red Cross. About 240-300 wounded and staff members were killed [168]. On September 2, the German air force bombed the insurgent hospital at ul. Malczewskiego 3/5, in which about 100 people were killed. German airmen then fired machine guns at people who were trying to dig up the victims buried during the raid [169]. On September 6, in the insurgent hospital at ul. Nebelwerfer ("cows"). 3/5 Pierackiego, about 80 wounded were burned alive [170]. Under the rubble of the insurgent hospital at ul. Boduena 4/6, about 100 people died

CITY44 is the best movie about the Warsaw uprising so far created. It was shot with help of still living insurgents so it is the closest to the real events... Generally, it was a brave act without a chance of success by the citizens of Warsaw and people that came to the city to help the insurgents. Our freedom fighters were outnumbered, they had hardly any weapon, they were low on ammo as well. Hardly any medicines... yet they decided to fight. Some say they wanted to show the world it is possible to fight Germans back, some say they counted on Soviet's help (which did not come... and Soviet troops were ordered to wait until the uprising ends and the Polish soldiers die, they were just waiting on the other bank of the Vistula river and observing the events). If you want to know something more, pease do watch the film. It will not tell you the whole story, but it will show you the tragedy of the uprising for sure.

Some of the scenes from the video comes from a movie but others are original from the uprising. There were two brothers that were involved in cinematography and have documented all the battles and the people doing everyday things during the 63 days of the uprising. The Museum of the Warsaw Uprising has restored this film and published in on DVD. So some of the scenes you see in this video are real. BTW when they sing "Warszawo walcz" it's in Polish and means "Warsaw fight".

If you wanna know and feel more you can see movie "Pianist". But you must remember this is very hard movie because this was not only story... Anyway you can find information about it. If you take on the challenge, prepare yourself a large pack of handkerchiefs. You must also know that, despite the end of the war, Poland has not regained its freedom for another 45 years... Even before the world wars, we did not have lightly. For 123 years we were practically not on the map. Several times we managed to recover a piece of land and be as independent as possible Independent. It was not until 1918 that we regained our independence, but not all land. In general, we have a very rich history...
@BroadwayBro9 ай бұрын
I was looking for something and came across your video (this video). The "Rising" video was made in 2010. This clip tells the story of WARSAW UPRISING OF 1944 often mistaken for Warsaw Getto Uprising. Warsaw uprising is a very important and bloody card in a history of Poland. We are talking about WW2 and Poland squeezed by 2 totalitarian powers, Nazi Germany from the West and Soviet Union from the East. You have to read more abore this story because this is the story of Europe. Churchill and FDR didn't want to involve, therefore the only help for Poland was organized by Polish government on exile in London. But Soviets, who were supposed to help, waited until Warsaw colapses and wanted to enter the city to took the city from very exhausted German soldiers. Soviets promised to mark air fields with fires in order to help Polish and British planes in landing during nights. Once planes were near Warsaw pilots saw ZERO lights. They couldn't return because they were prepare to refuel in Poland and go back to England. So they mostly died on return over Germany. Orwell wrote a great article about British government on whom Poland counted. It was a very personal towards Winston Churchil. Germans thought the Warsaw would be taken within 3 days but Warsaw fought from August 1st until October 1st. Everyone was a soldier. When rising ended Germans saw that Soviets are 10 km from Warsaw. This frontline was closed so they decided to retreat. But they also decided to destroy Warsaw in an act of despair that this city would pass to Soviets' hands shortly. There were 200 thousand dead during Warsaw Uprising. 63 thousand were murdered during methodic and planned murders. It began on Wola (whete I live). It's one of Warsaw parts. People were gathered from houses, brought to one place, shoot and their bodies were burned on huge piles that were even 5 meters high or were thrown to holes and burned. This was GERMANS, not some misticsl NAZIS. Each single German since 1934 up to WW2 supported NSDAP party. Germans, from little kids to old people, they were all Hitler's supporters. Just like today 95 percent of Russians that support Putin and his "anti nazi operation" in Ukraine. Germans built biggest death camps in Poland and now they csll them POLISH desth camps, motherfuckers. Auschwitz, Treblinka, are only 2 biggest among the many. Germans made killing an industry. If you know or not many German companies exist today only because they were involved in a death machine during WW2. Mostcof those brands are global and you use their products. The powers of those companies were built on deaths of Poles, Jews, Ukrainians, Roms, etc. My name is Adam and I made a storyboard to this Sabaton video. I am a former storyboard artist and a copywriter. I am also a journalist by education. It was shot in Warsaw in a place which no longer exists in such a form. Two main charachters are professional actors. The video is directed by a director, who directs documentaries, shorts and theater plays. The role of Oskar Dirlewanger (this German killer) is played by a US-Swedish actor Rolf Peter Ingvar Stormare, known from many bloody movies and Coen brothers' Fargo. Here some more Polish music, this is a cover by Polish band ACID DRINKERS. They play kind of crossover thrash but influenced by an old bands like Motor Head, Black Sabbath... They began in 1986. Spread some word about Germany snd Warsae Uprising to the UK audience. The most reliable story about this event you can read once entering: ipn.gov.pl/en/digital-resources/articles/8492,The-most-beautiful-Polish-battle.html Acid drinkers: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2fWaoKHftt3bpIsi=FyRitJuoJgRr9bT7
