Thanks from a Polish descendant in the US. My family came to the US after WW1 for a fresh start, but when my grandfather saw what was happening in the land of his parents birth, he enlisted as soon as he could. His biggest regret was Poland being on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain. We stayed in touch as best we could through the Soviet years, and finally in 1993 I was able to visit my ancestral homeland! Pozostań silny, moi ludzie! (My apologies for the terrible translation).

It was the Polish squadron that dealt the most kills to german planes. They were unmatched. There is a memorial of the Polish soldiers here in my city. My great-grandfather participated in the battle of wizna and he wrote in his diary (translation): When we tried to cross the bridge we felt like we were thrown into the depths of tartarus (the underworld in latin mythology). All hell broke loose, we had tanks, StuKas, heavy artillery and a supremacy of soldiers but couldn't pass 3 bunkers and one mg-nest. They fired like a sandstorm and we couldn't set one foot on the other side of the bridge [...]. It seems like they sucked themselves into these bunkers like ticks in a boar. Respect to these 700 polish soldiers, who fought off wave after wave, disregarding the overwhelming number of enemies. Please let's all contribute to a world where wars like this will never happen again.

@Kacper Dziugan 40 : 1 is calculation of battle troops and their reinforcements. When I was in school our history teacher didn't had 100 % sure how many troops had Poland and Germany in that battle. that's what I was learned about battle of wizna on my history lessons.

But i also think, that we need to be more friendly to each other. Because we are a simple people, and we also suffered from mad leaders, like stalin and other commie bastards.
