Another Sabatu's masterclass ! I really love the return of the bats in the first level. Atlantean T-Rexs too :D The spirit of the Sabatu's TR1 is still here (boulders, 4138524 enemies at the same time etc...) and some things from TR2 like portals gives a fresh air to TR1. Thanks for sharing these levels to us, you play extremely well !

I have finished watching so going to give my verdict. All the levels look stunning. Some familiar TR1 textures but a few changes keep these areas looking fresh. A few of the levels are on the scale of some of the bigger ones from the early games and a few actually make me think of TR3. The bat cave in the first level was a good feature. A bit like the spider cave from TR2 - Temple of Xian. The Secret #4 Easter bug is amusing. I am not sure if that was intentional but at least Sabatu is able to laugh it off. Sometimes a few texture glitches actually go quite well! There was something slightly unnerving about picking up Pierre's head! I love the blend of Egypt with the more lava centric Atlantis theme. Good to see the reuse of those 'Atlantean T-Rexes' in the home invasion while the battle with the Torso boss is actually quite soft compared to some of Sabatu's boss battles. I see he used the trademark dark room though! Some really ugly Atlanteans in this as well. I have seen some mean retextures before but these ones seem to be rather goulash which fits the part. Same goes for the centaurs. I am curious to what Lawson, Pierre and Natla said when Lara encountered them. I was wondering for a while when Sabatu would have a new set of levels up but I guess he has been busy working on these in the background. I have played his RE-birth Part 1 and what an awesome set of levels they was as well

Yeah, if not with community patch that supports bigger map, most of his levels won't come alive like now. And yeah the secret #4 is a good reference of the most unique secret in TRLE "Movement at the Monastery". As for those 3 villains, Natla and Pierre are the only ones who spoke during the fight. If you noticed what Natla said after she stood up, you would be reminded of the easter egg reference from Gekco's "The TowerBridge Experience". In that level, Natla did really set up her own coffee brand named " Natla Coffee" 🤣

Well that's pretty understandable. His levels are never for casual players. I mean just look at the level design. Some parts are really challenging, but it somewhat gives you a sense of achievement if you manage to pass it 😂

Ngl when i watch playthroughs of them i usually wish he took the advice "less is more" for the enemies, there's beautiful music to complement the complex and well made level design but I'm annoyed because you have to spend the music cue killing a million bats or strengthened lions

that trap's definitely insane for players.... You have to run to opposite side to avoid such many arrows. takeing sidesteps was definitely the most craziest move I've done 😂

I liked the locations with the Mayan temple and the Roman pool. Made very skilfully, which makes you take it for the original game. Also, this level looks very difficult... As Lara said at the beginning of the game - "unforgiving". Good job perfoming all those gymnastics, Steven! 😉👏

Ive begun watching this walkthrough and I was thinking this to be an original design of some bonus level. Then I had to look it up to understand it better. The level design is so fresh, exotic, unique and looks very... like a part of the original game. I would never be able to play through this but i enjoy watching . The only suggestion I have is for a player to perhaps stop and let us, the poor peasant viewers enjoy the gorgeous surroundings... Lara shoots straight through the obstacles, knowing where exactly to go and that takes away from the feel of exploration...where you have to stop, look around and asses the situation because if you don't you are killed by an unexpected chopchop thingie :D All the best

Secret #11 and #14 are just impossible. I came here to check the three I missed. #15 I would have found with a bit more patience (because i had made a mental note to check that room better)...........but but #14? How would I find it other than jumping and checking EVERY dark patch on every upper wall thingy? And #11, I expected to find something to open that door, but again.........a dark wall patch in some random place....quite far away. How did you find these??!

For #11, It's really strictly timed. I even tried more than 10 times back then. The tips for it is, perform the running jump as much as possible when you're in a wide hallway or in an open area. Performing running jump can make Lara moves slightly faster than mere running 😅😅 For #14 I missed out during my first playthrough. Then I had to go back to the level and do the careful search and I got it. The thing is, you can predict or even get to know what or where the author may place the secrets if you ever played some of his levels 🤣🤣

I hope so... I think PSX cannot hold such huge level. Even on PC, original TR1 cannot run with these levels without a community patch, which expands draw distance, objects and room limits,etc. 😅

I love your videos, but I have a request, in my opinion the original Tomb Raider was not designed to handle it's texture work with filtering in mind, so it makes textures very blurry and it honestly doesn't look very good, I feel like unfiltered textures (with resolution supersampling if you want to avoid aliasing) would look significantly better, not sure what's possible on this source port but hopefully it is :)

The whole fight at 2:12:38 is just ridiculous. You can give up right away if you have less than 10 large medipacks. And you need to save your progress throughout the game every few seconds. This is not a fun game at all.
