I also thank you. We received the new refrigerator yesterday, supposedly one with שבת mode (that's what the store told us when they took our money), with nothing telling us how to turn off the lights! The technician still has not showed up, and שבת is only hours away. I searched the web for a solution and found this post. This was great! ברוך השם! Thank you for sharing this knowledge!

Let me give an update: At least on _our_ refrigerator, what initially appears to be a display of "5.40" is really "S.40", which means that the button sequence provides 40 hours without the light instead of 54 hours. To get 80 hours without the light press the _second_ button from the bottom instead of the third button.

How do you turn off Shabbat mode?

SaraStadtman after about 36 hours it comes back on and for Yom tov after 50 hours or so
