Hi every one, God bless. I am from Port Limón the Caribean side of Costa Rica. My wife have a massage in song to render this coming Sabbath the 17/06/2023, but she got sick, so she told me to sing in her stead. She reminds me that the song have to be about the Sabbath, so I was going to sing , "Holy day Jehovah's rest", but in the middle of the night, Wednesday, this song came across, and men, it is a spirit fill song, God bless the one he blesses to write the words. Cod bless every one.❤

What made Sabbath “holy” The essence of Sabbath-keeping was physical rest. In Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15, the Sabbath command specifies rest from labor as the way to keep the day “holy.” There is no mention of going to a worship service each Sabbath. Other passages in the Old Testament also define the Sabbath by rest, not by attendance at worship services. See Exodus 31:12-17, Numbers 15:32, Nehemiah 13:15-22 and Jeremiah 17:19-27. The latter two passages, though they refer to Jerusalem, do not mention anything about failure to attend worship services or “sacred assemblies,” but only work on the Sabbath as a desecration of this day. An interesting study is to look up the word “Sabbath” in a concordance, find all the Old Testament references and then read those passages to see how this day was kept “holy.” The conclusion will be that rest from labor is what made the Sabbath sacred time, not attendance at a worship service. Most Israelites lived too far from the tabernacle to attend a worship service every Sabbath - and there is no evidence in the Old Testament that they did. And the law did not allow them to assemble anywhere else for worship. Nor do we find commands even for people near the Tabernacle that they had to gather for worship. The Sabbath was kept at home, by resting. There is no mention in Old Testament passages that attending a worship service on the Sabbath is a way of keeping this day holy. The way the Sabbath was sanctified, made holy or set apart as sacred was through physical rest from labor. All the Old Testament references to Sabbath observance in Israel speak to this point. There is no Old Testament theology of weekly Sabbath holiness that centers around attendance at “holy convocations.”

Lyrics We set our work aside. We leave our cares behind, On this day of Sabbath rest. On this holy day, we come to give You praise, On this day of Sabbath rest. Sabbath rest. Holy rest, On this day He set aside, Hallowed, blessed and sanctified; Sabbath rest, holy rest, Out of all the week the best, We have come to be blessed, One this day of Sabbath rest. We set our work aside, we leave our cares behind, On this day of Sabbath rest, On this holy day, We come to give You praise, On this day of Sabbath rest. Sabbath rest, Holy rest, On the day He set aside, Hallowed, blessed and sanctified; Sabbath rest, holy rest, Out of all the week the best, We have come to be blessed, One this day of Sabbath rest.

@@kallyjon LOL, I guess by your reckoning, the Great Jehovah, Creator of all things needed to rest from His physical labor? People will say and do anything to forget the one commandment that God Himself told us to remember. As plain as can be, we read in God's Holy Word the following from Leviticus 23:3 New International Version 3 “‘There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, *a day of sacred assembly*. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord. God's example of rest was not because He needed it, but we do, and during those sacred hours (why else would he sanctify and hallow the day if it were not to be sacred?), we commune with Him corporately---just as Jesus, our Example did by going into the temple on Sabbath "as His custom was" according to Luke 4:16. Question: what is your point about the Sabbath? Just stop working? Do you do that, or is that just a way to argue other points that relieve you from the inconvenience of a Sabbath in a capitalist-driven, secular society? It's such a simple commandment, filled with blessings, and it doesn't require any work--as you somewhat noted, it's actually about REST!

Just a word of encouragement: Remember that Jesus loves you and He's coming soon. If you have not made a decision to follow Him, don't wait because tomorrow is promised to no one. Satan wants us to believe we have all the time in the world, when we actually don't. Even he knows his time is short (Revelation 12:12) Lastly, the National Sunday Law is about to be enforced upon us. It involves the Mark of the Beast. The Beast is a religious & political system, which includes the Pope and his followers. Their sign of authority or seal is Sunday worship because they claim to have authority over the Bible and they admit that Sunday worship is their doing. (Revelation 13:6). They will enforce worship on all. (See Revelation 13). IT is their plan to force all to worship on the 1st day of the week (Sunday) and have that as the ONLY DAY of worship. They want everyone to forsake God's law which includes keeping the Sabbath, and accept man's tradition. When it is enforced, and people accept Sunday worship INSTEAD of accepting the Seventh Day Sabbath (Saturday) as the Lord's Day and only true day of worship, they will get the mark of the Beast. The system promotes false worship. So, it's our duty to keep God's it commandments, including the 4th which talks about the Sabbath because in the end, we have to chose 1 side. So, lastly, I'm inviting you to the Seventh Day Adventist church that is NEAREST to you and make it your #1 priority be ready by God's grace to face the time that is just before us.
