The South African government doesn't buy gas from Mozambique, It's multi national corporations dealing with that, In most cases the money doesnt make it to Mozambique, much of the money remains in South Africa where the shareholders sit. South Africa has been milking Mozambique the same way it does with Mineral rich countries like DR Congo and central African republic.

@@celiajames600Not even the opposition leader can be 100% sure he won, however, based on whatever unadulterated materials they had to work with, the general voting tendency pointed towards Frelimo losing rather convincingly. Furthermore, both national and international independent election observers reported various irregularities and lack of transparency in the electoral process, a fact that was completely ignored by the Contitutional Council (the tribunal that has jurisdiction over electoral matters). Lastly, I find it quite curious that in a country where the poverty rate increased from 48% in 2015 to 62% in 2023 (a coastal country extremely rich in natural resources mind you), the party responsible for this criminal mismanagement can then unironically claim to have won 65-70% of the vote.
