If we must not forget the past they say, and be forever loyal to our struggle supporter "Russia", then we must either be loyal to all of it or none of it, otherwise this is discrimination. Ukraine was a big part of Russia (USSR, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republic) and many of our "comrades" were sheltered in the then Kiev ( Kyiv) and trained by the Ukrainians, why are we choosing to ignore their plight when they are being wronged? So where is the loyalty towards our former caretakers Ukraine? It was not the Russia of today (Or Putin for that matter) which supported our struggle, but the USSR and if we believe in fairness, we should be loyal to all the former member countries and not just the current biggest one. One of the last great leaders of the USSR, Konstantin Chernenko was Ukranian!

@@johnlamb3101 If you friend is destroying their neighbor, do you not condemn them? Ramaphosa's ANC has refused this while condemning Israel for doing the same to the Palestinians.

Don't be an ignorant fool. The war between Russia and Ukraine s a pro war being run by the US against Russia, South Africa has nothing against Ukraine, and if it was not for US interference there won't be a war between Russia and Ukraine. You choose to be ignorant of the fact that this war began when the US pulled a coup on a democratically elected Ukraine president in 2014 because he wanted to remain neural between Russia and the west, now you pretend as if we are also ignorant of these things. So we are not being hypocrites South Africa is friends with the suffering people of Ukraine, we are just not going to be used by the US in their geopolitical games that is all..

This ignoring history and writing it off is toxic nothing happens in a vacuum, Russia helped in the liberation of South African people who where being oppressed, and just what was the DA doing during that time? And the NP? didn’t the DP and NP come together then separate and now we have the DA, it really wasn’t that long ago, this country owes Russia a Thank You and always will. The (DP, NP) or DA owes this country an apology, so they should have nothing to say, it’s shameless they even have a comment, to the DA, keep apologising because there are still victims running around reeling from the policies you took part in or profited from, I don’t recall you fighting for the liberation of African people from apartheid, could be wrong but I highly doubt it,some people don’t have family member’s anymore, just shameless in my opinion that they even have anything to say.
