If we reform the way we elect representatives-prioritizing integrity, proven track records, and tangible evidence of their commitments, rather than charm or popularity-we can restore the ANC to its former glory. Leaders like Mandela and Mbeki exemplified principled governance, setting a foundation of integrity. However, the rot began with Zuma’s tenure, marked by greed and the reckless expulsion of visionary youth leaders like Malema. By demanding accountability and merit in leadership, we can renew the ANC and reclaim its original mission of serving the people.
