It is true that the People are suffering, but if indeed they were offered a chance to relocate, then how can 1 blame the government, I'm usually critical when It comes to the government, but if it's true that road construction was gonna cost 23 M, when the municipality was getting 60 M for MIG, then relocation is the most fiscally sound option, but the people apparently rejected it, I heard some of the interviewees saying they will never leave the place even if they are offered RDPs elsewhere, the what do u want the government to do?
@sithembisoradebe611510 ай бұрын
As much as this is very difficult and sad but I think the people should really consider relocating, they must think about their children, this has a devastating impact on their education because if they continue staying there it's just going to be a continuous vicious cycle

If it would cost R20m+ to deliver services to that community, the government could divide the budget yearly. It was easy for them to adopt the community’s decision cause it would save them money and will give them excuse to share to the media. They can do the work but they don’t want to because it does not affect them directly. Trust me put that municipal guy with his family at that community, you will have a budget for the road and a bridge in less than a year. We have seen it with the COVID19 pandemic, government is capable of working out a plan they just don’t want because it does not 1. Benefit them 2. Affect them.

SARS is incredibly efficient regarding the collection of tax money. The problem is that tax money is wasted due to the high level of corruption and incompetence in government. 26 years on and people still don't have running water? It's very unfortunate that state funds are wasted/stolen through corruption and that those who are guilty of this rarely face the consequences.

I learned that if I won't be able to change the external factors,like the government - then I should change myself to adapt to new situations,even if it means I should wrestle my attitude to embrace change in persuit of a better life.In this instance I would have chosen to relocate,and let go of my fears like that other man who now lives in a new RDP house,closer to service providers.Sometimes we need to change...

This is just the reality of the matter. Let’s face it people, SA government has failed so many and I’m sorry to say but it’s still going to get worse. People in the townships are suffering and requesting for far cheaper things than indlela ye 23million and still their requests are not being met. I’m not saying intle lento yenzekayo but ke as uSodoluphu sele tshilo is that some things are beyond their capabilities.

Matome Moloisi I really do disagree with you there. They’re happy there no matter the circumstances and that what matters most. And with our history as black people, being stripped of our land; forced removals of the apartheid era and all that. And then this government is tryna do the same thing, removing the people from their land instead of providing them with roads, is really sad and pathetic. I love their pride and unity in standing in what they believe in xeim mna.
