In the first route Saber identity is revealed mid way, in the visual novel each route will gradually reveal more information about plot and servants

People say dont watch zero first because the fate stay night novel is written to reveal all the information and revelations over time. Its the intended start. Of course as far as anime its concerned the order is all messed up and the adaptions are of varying quality, so starting in a specific way matters much less. Also be aware this storyline is merely the second out of 3 so its already written for people with predisposed knowledge of the first fate stay night route

The main reason people say to not start with fate/zero is that it’s a prequel and is intended by the author to be watched after FSN. The problem is that the original F/zero was meant to be read after reading the whole VN (all three routes). Unfortunately, there is no good fate route anime adaptation, so it creates this weird situation where both UBW and zero aren’t really good starting points for the series, but also the only quality starting points for the anime adaptation bc Deen/stay night even at its best just doesn’t really hold up.

There isn't much info for the 1st to 3rd Holy Grail Wars but what I can tell you is that in none of those anyone actually wins, the first two were basically test runs gone wrong and by the Third (which is the one there is more info about) they finally managed to set the proper ritual yet SOMEONE had to ruin it. The result was the corruption of the Grail, which before this, is like the internet, has a large database of historical and mythological people and when summoning it filters for only True Heroic spirits. The corruption (as seen in Fate/Zero and F/SN) allows that filter to not work properly getting anti-heroes, villans and monsters to get summoned too. For example, Caster from Fate/Zero.

FSN has a mistery element following Shirou's POV where shit gets revealed as major turning points, like true identities and allegiances. F/Zero took all that away and revealed everything from the start, this is why even the original creators state that Zero is not to be treated as a starting point or even a prequel, since it has lots of deviations from FSN, so it has to be treated as a cool spin-off

Depending on watch order, people will have very different experience. People who starts with Fate Zero first will feel that it is the superior experience and vice versa, people who starts with Stay Night first will tell you that starting with Stay Night is the superior experience. Both have their own merits but I will try to explain why some people suggest not to start from Zero: - it's like watching a mystery movie but having the knowledge of most the mysteries and plot twists from the start, for example if you are playing or watching the entire Fate/Stay Night trilogy before watching Zero, you will only know the twist about what happened to Sakura and her relationship with Rin in Heaven's Feel, shifting your perspective on Sakura 180° from previous routes. You can't get this plottwist experience if you already watch Zero. - Fate Stay Night explains the basics of the Holy Grail War mechanics in more digestable way for newcomer - Zero has very different vibe and tone compared to Stay Night as they are written by different writters (Zero by Gen Urobutchi and Stay Night by Nasu). If someone decide to watch Zero first, whether they like it or not, it might set a false expectation about its sequel having the same dark and dystopian tone. There are still many other factors, but I think these are the 3 major ones. Now, some people will be upset because their favorite content creator won't have the same experience as they do, but let's all be civilized about it, and you can try to enjoy a new perspective.

There are no official series for the First, Second, and Third Holy Grail War, but the sequel to Fate Stay Night, Hollow Ataraxia, which is just in VN form, has flashbacks and reenactments of the Third Holy Grail War and Fate Apocrypha is an alternate timeline by a different Third Holy Grail War ending

There is an info about the 6th war though it only exists in a material, it might be featured in the future though if things go well(Probably for the next 5 years) 5:46 At that point in UBW? 1.well there was a material for 6th war but it resumed as purely hypothetical since Waver and Rin plucked away the sourse of holy grail war's so there cannot be sixth one anymore.....(unless you were hinting at strange fake). 3.Also just because we don't have Goliaff now doesn't mean he doesn't exist in Fate series considering that we have David.

so fun fact berserker noble phantasm god hand prevents anything of B rank or lower from hurting saber has B rank strength and a C rank NP(not including excalibur) so during this fight she should be completely incapable of hurting him but the anime wanted it to look cooler so they made new scenes where he somehow gets hurt by saber cause it looks cool

Well yeah but despite invisible air being a C rank noble phantasm she still has Excalibur underneath it so that's probably why.Also even in VN she was clashing with him with invisible air on and he was deflecting it but if it wasn't hurting him he won't be even bothering.

4:16 It gets revealed in a later episode but I’ll act like you already know who it is and tell you it’s Heracles. Anyway Berserker is that servants weakest class, he’s not even able to use one of his noble phantasms because when summoned as a berserker his Mad Enhancement makes him unable to use it. If he had been summoned into literally any other class the grail war would be almost impossible for anyone else to win. In fact if summoned as a saber or archer he’d be able to rival Gilgamesh. In fact if summoned as a saber he’d wield a sword said to be stronger than Excalibur and with archer being stated to be his strongest class that means as an archer he either has the sword as well or something as strong if not stronger than it. We also know that as an archer he’d have at least 12 different noble phantasms. He can’t be killed by the same thing twice, each time he’s killed by something he gains a resistance to that weapon as well, and any weapon, attack and noble phantasm lower than A rank cannot hurt him. Which means that for a lot of servants they wouldn’t even be able to do so much as scratch him. There’s only three other Greek hero’s who are on his level as a berserker and it’s Perseus, Achilles and the Dioscuri. The Dioscuri can’t even be summoned normally anyway. You need someone almost as strong as Gilgamesh to even stand a chance against him. 9:17 also slight Gil badass moment, the liquid the destroyed grail dumped on Gilgamesh at the end of Zero is Grail mud also known as ALL THE WORLDS EVIL taken curse form and it turns servants into alters, but Gilgamesh’s mind and ego is so strong that the grail mud gave up on trying to corrupt him. In fact Gilgamesh stated it would take at least 3x more grail mud to even start corrupting him. 14:34 Anyway back to fanboying over Herc, as an archer he’d get summoned with a np that would make him invincible to EVERYTHING made by humans or for humans.

To start with, Unlimited Blade Works is the 2nd route of Fate/Stay Night. The 1st route is the 2006 anime. People say not to start with Zero for various reasons: 1. It's not the first Fate 2. Fate/Stay Night is a mystery story that features stuff and revelations as you experience it. Zero straight up takes away this for spoiling its most major parts. And yes, Zero spoils FSN worse than FSN does to Zero. 3. Even the writer says not to start with Zero 4. People use the Star Wars trilogy and prequel trilogy as a comparison for FSN and Zero, but honestly? A better analogy is that Fate/Stay Night is a whole game and Zero is the DLC Expansion. 5. Zero is not a canon prequel to Fate/Stay Night. It's also a spin-off that takes place in an alternate timeline.

Just my 2 cents, but i feel like a LOT of fate fans kind of forget that for most people, the ufotable anime adaptations are going to be the only fate media they consume. Most people are not going to bother to watch Deen stay/night. Most people are for sure not going to read the visual novel. So the question really boils down to the best way to watch the ufotable works, as these are what 80% of people are going to consume, and in that regard i believe the studio very much assumed that people would watch the series in release order, with Zero coming out in 2011 and UBW coming out in 2014, therefor assuming people would already be familiar with Zero before they watched UBW. Same reason why Heaven's Feel skips the whole first few episodes worth of content in the beginning, they assume if you're watching Heaven's Feel, you already watched UBW (also time constraints when dealing with movies so the easiest part to condense).

Watching Zero & Stay Nights are like Star Wars, you can start with Original Trilogy/EPS 4 (Stay Nights) or Prequels/EPS1 (Zero), ppl really needs to stop telling new fans on which one is the correct order to watch, especially those who always said "read/play the VN first", those kind of comment are just gonna make new fans hesitant to even start Fate
