Nick D'Virgilio presents the Sabian XSR Cymbal Super Pack. For the XSR Series, Sabian has leveraged the latest cymbal-making technology and drawn on many of the same production methods used to make their high-end X-Plosion and Evolution cymbals. Hammered and featuring enhanced profiles, XSR cymbals sport re-shaped bells for superior sonic acceleration.

Too many drummers judge cymbals by the cost, and think that's what matters. Wrong. I've played some B8PRO and B8s that sounded amazing. It's not the price that matters, it's about what your ears like. These sound great!

The best thing about this though is if you're like me and have a double bass kit with full rack and side extensions the packs give you plenty of great sounding cymbals at low cost,but I suggest definitely adding the 17 and 19 crash to the pack. But when one or more of them start to fall apart you can upgrade to HHX,AAX, or AA and still have your kit full of Sabians.

My church worship leader bought some pst8's because of a budget constraint before I could suggest this pack to him. I use just AAX and HH cymbals, but these are probably the best beginner/intermediate cymbals that exist compared to Zildjian, Paiste, and Meinl. The quality they give for a low price for so many cymbals is just amazing. #teamsabian

The ride is my favorite addition of the entire series. I used to play with the Xs20 medium ride as an all purpose ride and that was pretty good for most genres of music. But it still could have used some tweaking to make it sound even BETTER. This XSR ride was exactly what wanted!

It works great for both applications. I am personally not a fan of crash cymbals smaller 16" but in the right setting this would be perfect as a small crash.

I love the playing. I use the hats, 16 and 18 crashes and ride for my drumset and what you say is exactly how i feel about them. Their sound is just so versatile, I mostly play metalcore and they provide a powerful sound, but my drum teacher’s jazzy licks sound very accurate too! When it comes to the ride - I think it has a nice amount of wash to it when you hit near the edge, I find it pretty crashy, but if aiming for awesome clarity try a piece of moongel. Combined with a HHX 16” China and a 10” AAX Aero Splash makes a great setup for me. Anyways a good video, I might wanna see some more to broaden my Sabian horizons 😂

i know there is a 20 inch crash for sure... but as far as comparing them to S, there are quite a few differences. These are b20 and the s are b12 but as far as I know they are at a similar price. The xsr sound far better imo because of the metal difference

I own a 20 inch Zildjian A custom crash, it's sound similar to this XSR 18 inch, would be a good pair if you own A custom line up. Meanwhile personally I think Zildjian S cymbals line has brighter and "cheaper" sound (IMHO) compare to this XSR line up.

@DoubleD_93
@DoubleD_93 7 жыл бұрын
Material is half the story. Man hours are other half. Sabian (much like most companies) charge more for products that require more expertise to manufacture by skilled artisans. A good example is perhaps Tama with their Star series vs. the super/silverstar. Basically, what Sabian has done here is maintain a price point that gives you B20 bronze with automated hammering and good lathing, where both are no where near as much as say an AA or AAX which these sound very similar to. I've tested the XSRs against the AAXplosion crashes and the sound is similar, but main differences are : XSR is tonally brighter, sustain after initial crash is slightly longer and has a faint ring as it washes out; AAXplosion is tonally darker, sustain is less, and no ring. None of these differences are audible when recorded, but are enough to charge $60 less (plus the differences in hammering and automation).
@isiscruz9075
@isiscruz9075 7 жыл бұрын
Dayne Diniz you literally proved my point and All ibsaid. if you read the 1st few words I said "Made" which is part of the "man hours"... read carefully next time for what I said that's it. and the whole Tama thing the Tama super star maple sounds better than most high end Tama star drums... I've played seem and tried em. But that one is just imo. anyways. I went to Tcymbals. all hand made. I was a 100% sabian only user but t-cymbals made me switch. better made, quality and price. looks great but really has great sound. for all types and even for custom sounds you're looking for which is the most important thing time in drumming. not what They say is a good sound already made.
@DoubleD_93
@DoubleD_93 7 жыл бұрын
I did explain what I meant through stating that they're giving you less lathing and hammering than the AAX/AA series, which was merely an explanation that contained more detail than your initial comment for those curious about prices of these cymbals in comparison to the AAX/AA. I'm still partial to Sabian since I'm in Canada and almost every store sells them here, so support/order waiting times are maximum one month. I could not find any Canadian endorsers of T-cymbals and there's only one dealer in all of Canada. I'm more than happy with Sabian, but to each their own.
