This is a close one but from what heard, sabito took on and killed almost all the demons during the tryouts and before being killed, his sword got dull and chipped which is why he lost against the hand demon but if he survived he would of been of the strongest water hashiras.

I think Mui could win but it'll be extreme diff and his only advantage is that his Breathing Style is better. Sabito is an inherently offense kind of guy but Water-Breathing is flexible and doesn't specialize in the offense. If Sabito used Snake Breathing (it's possibke since that is derived from Water), he would win extreme diff

It was never stated that sabito was talented or a prodigy just like muichiro As you can see , Tanjiro Killed Two Demons With only 1 move and sabito didnt even cut the huge rock in half , and Muichiro only spent 4 months to become a hashira 💀 , if Muichiro Had Experience, strength he would stomp sabito and Muichiro only spent a small time to get red blade and transparent world and was the only person who made use of mist breathing.

Ppl saying that Giyuu stated that Sabito would be the water hashira , but Giyuu got much more will power to get stronger after Sabito died , Giyuu didnt kill any demon in the final selections bcz he was afraid to fight not weak to kick their asses , Sabiot failed to behead a demon that ate less than 50 humans , while Giyuu didnt get to Death or life match in his a life as a demon slayer as he stated in the fight with Akaza ( this is how skilled he is ) , base Giyuu >Base Rengoku , Rengoku in his first mission was able to single handle and kill a demon that was going to become one of the moons (probably ate Hundreds if not a thousand ) ....

Giyyu.....ge himself stated that he feels like a fake water hashira (thats y he want tanjirou to be the next water hashira......but that aged well lol i wont tell cuz this will spoil most of the anime for u) because in the final selection he didnt even land a single scratch on a demon and sabito killed every demon on the mountain but failed to kill the hand demon and died but somehow giyyu survived without killing a single demon and in the end of the exam he realised that sabito and makamou were the only onez killed and everybody except those 2 survived and according to giyyu sabito deserved to be the actual water hashira and according to me he is believed to be this much strong because giyyu is like 3rd or 4th strongest hashira by the starting of final arc and became the 2nd strongest after the arc..........i mean uhm uhm Spoiler ahead All the hashiras other than giyyu tengen (he literally retired after Ent.District arc) and sanemi but giyyu is believed to be a rlly rlly strong hashira becuz... Spoiler He kept up with muzan for a long time all by himself obanai and mitsuri i mean mitsuri shitted her pants after performing some love breathing forms obanai did assist giyyu well but eventually became unconcious, tanjirou got yeeted by muzan every hashira died (except sanemi gyomei giyyu mitsuri and obanai) but atm sanemi and gyomei were trapped in the infinity castle and were exhausted cuz of their fight with uppermoon 1/kokushibo and giyyu was the only one standing in front of muzan and gave him a good fight and as qe know sabito is wayyyy stronger than giyyu he can have his rank higher than gyomei and marked sabito would be a litteral god maybe close to yoriichi the man with the hanafuda earrings who is feared by the demon king himself (muzan kibutsuji)

(kinda minor spoiler warning) Sabito's potential is unknown because the only reason we have to think he can be crazy strong is because Giyuu has an inferiority complex to all the hashiras and Sabito. In the final selection Giyuu got no kills while Sabito was popping off, this lead Giyuu to think that he should've been the one to die instead of Sabito and shouldn't be a hashira at all. Also here's some really good advice don't listen to most of the community, they're built with an awful brain cell losing disease that spreads. every time i hope onto KZbin comments i see it, people making up fake information because they can, and people being brain dead to ignorant or special to understand things for example Gyomei being able to solo every upper moon even tho its stated by the author no one can solo upper moon 3 to 1. This is really common everywhere btw so be carful with what you chose to believe
