There are still many character details that haven’t been mentioned, like the Frog yaoguais, the Old Monkey’s true identity, and the Four Primates-only the Six-Eared Macaque hasn’t appeared yet. Now I realize I missed the chance to include Ma Tianba (the horse) in the Mind-Monkey, Will-Horse part. Lol.

@@Williamsweeb I have a guess that the character the player is controlling is actually one of Sun Wukong's hairs. It doesn’t talk, and every time it dies, it turns back into a hair before becoming a monkey again.😃
you forgot to explain the part at the ending sequence where he erased his names from the death note and gaining another layer of immortality, but other than that, it was a great explanation

There is one theory from Chinese community that I love and want to share. Once we finish the first round of the game and start the second we get the sixth relic whichever ending we reach. But the looking of that relic is different by the two endings. The rebellion ending gives a headband with flame effect on it but the other ending gives just the headband. Meanwhile, the headband has always been the sign of constraint and control on Wukong, making every Chinese player confused for the reason to use it as the relic of will. Here comes that theory: The real relic of will is the flame on the headband, signifies the unbreakable will of exterminating all constraints and control.
@WilliamsweebАй бұрын
Thank you for this info! I tried to search for some screenshots of the relic and indeed there's are some has the halo ring around them while some doesn't. I think this detail further confirms that Destined One hold different mind sense/memory in 2 ending.

12:50, Acturally Wukong is not the only one that can lift a weapon that heavy, Erlang's Tri-point Spear weights 27000 jin which is around 13 tons, twice as heavy as Jingu Bang, also Julin (the biggest blue giant in the game's intro) is strong enough to take it.

I think the dlc will have the destined one and wukong fusion combined in one body will have unfinished business such as saving the fourth spider guai sister whom the destined one has a romantic interest similar to wukong who fell in love with lady white bone and wanted to run away to be with her but he can't due to the celstial court and the buddhist pantheon watching his every move during journey to the west and they are tolerant of immortals and yaoguais alike to fall in love as taboo.

I love this. Thank you. I also have a three questions: One, is Wang Lingguan the same boss we fight in Chapter 4? Two, are the Macaque King and the Six-Eared Macaque the same being, or are they completely different beings? And three, I saw five giant beings in both the prologue and Chapter 5’s short film. I know four of them are the Four Heavenly Kings, but who is the fifth giant in both scenarios?
@909mcronaldАй бұрын
Macaque king is one of wukong sworn brother that they meet and celerbrate Six ears macaque is one disguse as wukong Dont confused him with six ears macaque They not the same
@WilliamsweebАй бұрын
Right Wang Lingguan accompanies the Crane Immortal in Chapter 4. He leaves after the Crane Immortal tells him not to kill The Destined One. He is also the deity who stopped Wukong from attacking the Lingxiao Hall (Where Jade Emperor's throne is) after his escape from the furnace. I think that’s why he serves as the last obstacle from the Celestial Court in the game. Because he successfully stopped Wukong’s advance once before. The Macaque King is one of the Seven Great Sages (Míhóu Wáng - 獼猴王). It’s easy to mistake him for Wukong (Měi Hóuwáng - 美猴王). The Six-Eared Macaque is known as (Liù'ěr Míhóu - 六耳獼猴) The one in the prologue is Juling Shen, one of the first generals sent by the Jade Emperor to capture Sun Wukong. But in Chapter 5, it’s the capture of the Bull Demon King. In the novel, he is stopped by four Dharmapalas (those with wrathful face) while running in different directions. The fifth one wearing a red half-robe with long brows, looks like an Arhat. I guess he might be Asita Arhat. You can look him up to see the resemblance.

I saw the ending scene a bit differently. When he puts down his cup, we see all the empty weapons and no one else; I believe this is after the Monkey King is revived again and is now free. Then he walks through the waterfall with his bo-staff in hand, ready for an adventure, finally free of the band. Any thoughts?

Just another question if during the final battle with the broken shell if it has taken the 5 relics plus the memories that erlang gave to the destined one, wouldnt that literaly revive wukong in completion? I know it was not wukong's plan of course
@WilliamsweebАй бұрын
I also feel like Wukong truly regained his full power at that moment. His consciousness seemed to return, his iconic arrogant walk and constant taunting during the fight. I believe that was the moment he truly came back. Even he was revived like that, the headband was still on his head, and he still longed for death. That’s why he wanted to test if the Destined One were worthy of carrying on his name, challenging to defeat him at his full power. From that moment, the fight felt like Wukong was testing his successor. His taunts and the way he gave second chances, like picking up the staff and signaling to continue or drinking from the gourd, all felt like master-like gestures toward a disciple When he was defeated, I believe he let out a satisfied laugh, relieved to have found a worthy successor and liberated from the headband

Your video is wrong BTW. If you take the headband you become the next broken shell the relics reject the new broken shell. Because they will not accept to be reincarnated into a controlled by the headband. You see you turn into the same stone monkey you fought at the end. And we also heard there were many destin ones before who were mutes. This is because the destin one is the broken vessel of the true mind relic. Empty of WuKong's memories. The cycle will continue forever until you break free. This game is not really based on journey to the west but a Chinese novel that the game studio loves, because they based their last game on this same book. The book is named the Legend of WuKong. And only available to read in Chinese. But Budda and the monk make a bet that WuKong can escape the cycle of reincarnation that everything is in Budda's hand and the monk says WuKong can escape. I have heard of the book and it sounds interesting. The monk also goes into hiding in the book. Just like this game. If you can read Chinese this would be a great book to read and then explain if it and the game matches. I have only hear a Chinese woman say what I said. I am very interested though. And hope for a English Version sooner or later.

Thank you. I know about the Wùkōng chuán 悟空传 book you mention and the game Asura Online by Game Science. I believe the game just inspired by the book’s idea of memory and shell loop to metaphor the unending journey of enlightenment and freedom. The wisdom behind Wukong’s name, 'enlightened to emptiness' is Wu Cheng'en's idea of continuous practice, where Wukong is destined to start over again like the never-ending pursuit of enlightenment. The game’s ending also about Wukong begins the journey anew. The Old Monkey’s journal entry, especially the part about betting hinting he might be Tang Sanzang like the monk in the book. However, this idea isn’t new. Wagering and betting are recurring themes in the original novel. Like Wukong wagers he can escape Buddha’s hand; Or a bet with Zhenyuan Daxian about saving the Ginseng tree to secure Sanzang’s release, Jinchanzi's (Tang Sanzang) bet with Yellowbrow is like what we see in the game. The Old Monkey’s bet is not about winning or losing like in the book. It emphasizes that the journey (the process) is more important than enlightenment (the result). As stated in the game, 'He says he neither gambles nor loses. He is just waiting for the stories the Destined Ones will tell him upon their return. And he has never heard two identical stories.' The Wùkōng Chuán book is a fanfic with heavy romantic, conspiracy elements and a more human-like, attracted a modern audience especially women. But as I explained above, the game remains closer to the original novel’s wisdom and events. (Like the 4 long king sons and Yuan Soucheng which set the ground for the journey, and Black Bear Guai, Red Boy really practiced under Guanyin which indicated that the journey did happen, not just a scam like in the book plot) I think the devs made a wise choice by including the line 'Maybe the journey to the west never happened,' similar to the plot twist in the Wùkōng Chuán book. This adds a sense of jeopardy and intrigue for the audience. Besides, if every time a Destined One becomes the next Broken Shell, the Court has to shred 5 relics and bring them to the 5 yaoguais again? It seems unlikely. We’ve killed some of those yaoguais, haven't we? Even if they use different yaoguais each time, they will eventually run out of options not to mention it contradict many journal entry. I think when some characters in the game say 'another monkey again' upon seeing the Destined One, they’re referring to previous monkeys who couldn’t defeat the yaoguais but also couldn’t die (Wukong erased monkeys from the book of death). Those monkeys returned to Mount Huaguo and told the Old Monkey about their journey. Also a metaphor for us players die repeatedly in the game.

@@Williamsweeb thanks for the information. I do look forward to reading it when it is translated. But I do prefer the original Sun WuKong, to not having interest in love and women. But it is nothing new. Chinese tv shows have had Sun WuKong have love interest in them. Like the monkey king 3 tv show that brought back Dicky. And introduce me to my favorite made up curse word. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 Pick-pock-ligga-long-tick-thong. 😆 i love it. And who could forget that cow tongue twister. @@Vietnameseee I don't know if I understand your question correctly. I mean because Destined One have killed some of those 5 yaoguais so if he become a next Broken Shell, the next Destined One will have to beat all of those yaoguais once again before getting to him. The Destined One's loop theory doesn't make sense in that part.
