If about 80% of tournament players are using 4 real characters and 3 assists (most of them playing either MSP, Santhrax, or Matrix), having the occasional person running Strider/Doom or MIP doesn't really make the point you're trying to make. Really, even Cable's a bit of a stretch since Rowtron and Scrub don't get played nearly as much, but his threat:skill ratio is bad enough that you can't just play a Cable-weak team unless it's a last game counterpick. 3. Blackheart is practically unplayable in high levels because the big 4 all blow him up by just getting hit if he tries HOD due to the forced dash (and blow him in general if he just doesn't use HOD), and Spiral is pretty much just Duc's character, so get out of here with that circa 2002 character diversity 🤣

@@downrightfiercerare1565 All good, man, I was having some fun going overboard 😋 I've had plenty of good times playing MvC2 with non-meta characters. I think finding a way to make AHVBx3 less braindead would be a big key to unlocking more diversity, because Cable is basically ST's O.Sagat on crack (i.e. not the absolute best character, but too easy to use and shut down too much of the rest of the cast). I think not-quite-top-tier characters like Omega Red, Cammy, Dhalsim, Blackheart, etc. can actually work well in place of Storm or Mag on a lot of teams except that they die to Cable. Like, those characters also have issues with the rest of the big 4, but Cable's potential to punish stuff so much harder than any other character with dead easy execution is the biggest issue, in my eyes.

First superhero comic I've ever got was a Sabertooth comic, funny enough was the one where Birdie died. She was Sabertooth's assistant, obviously, she was a telepath that helped keep his trauma in check.

@@gabrielcastejon7914 Yeah, I remember a pretty striking scene from that comic where she visits Sabertooth's child self inside his mind, and his parents kept him on a basement with his hands cuffed and a steel-wire fence around his mouth because of his fangs and claws, and I believe he says they tried to pull them off multiple times, but they kept growing. It's weird that Marvel never brought Birdie back since they killed her back then, but then again they've just made Sabertooth into a bum since the 2000's.

"Birdy!" "Yeahhhh bosss" (in that beautifully thick Jersey accent) My favorite team for aesthetic reasons are Stryder Hyru, Captain commando, and Son Son. I love love Stryder's moveset and that ninja shit. He also just looks cool as fuck. I also love when Captain Commando calls in his pals and does that super where every of his members attack. And then Sonson, I just love her moveset too. The spinning staff and walking across the screen shit, breaking the fourth wall. I love it. The characters who have the best dialogue are Sabertooth ("Yeahhh bosss"), Ruby heart ("You wanna pan!", "Give me the shoe"), and rogue ("Good naght sugar")

I always hate when players talk trash on characters in fighting games. There is rarely a truly shit character in fighting games, they just have to be in the right hands. I remember when MvC3 was new and I used to play Akuma all the time and I would literally have players tell me about how trash Akuma was. LMFAO!!
