Iirc, Hung rode a scooter and therefore wore a helmet. I'd bet his chinstrap aggravated his existing acne. That can certainly happen.

I wish that people who complain about the “stabbing” and how much blood it brings out could watch this video. She can stick that blade right in there and even dig things out and he is fine but it’s the squeezing that makes him flinch and moan.

Thuy says back then you didn't have spas like you do today so they had to find a lady who would stab your skin. She encourages him to keep going. She tells him that all of his family really loves him. Mom takes a video call with GY's little sister. She's saying big brother, what are you doing big brother? Mom says he's getting medicine from a doctor because he's sick. Little girl sounds very cute but hard to tell what they said at the end because of all the machines. Thuy calls GY big brother a couple times. Thuy asks if he has a lot of friends here. mom says he had 7th and 8th grade here. No, Thuy does not talk about having a daughter. No, Thuy does not think she's an ugly woman. Careful whose tranlations you believe. Stick to people whose translations have been hearted by Thuy in the past.

Medication can dry the skin, not this incessant poking. It will all come back without medication and, maybe, occasional touchups

@@trninfan but they don't just poke the skin. They do treatments on their clients. They use medication. They tell the client what to get at the pharmacy and how to either apply it or take it. After they do an extraction session, they use a machine that gently sucks any remaining debris. They also use other treatments. I've seen them use a mister or steam. They do everything they can so their clients will get better. The before and after pictures speak for themselves.

I can't deny his face has gotten so much better. However, you can take a bucket and empty a full bath tub, but it will continue to fill up if you don't cut the water off. Same thing applies here. If he isn't on a retinoid to control his oil/sebum production, then he will continue to flare regardless of how many times he has a treatment like this. Hopefully he is on both an antibiotic and retinoid if he is able to afford it.

@@draganab9948 According to translations, he saw a dermatologist in Taiwan. Treatment didn’t work. What if it was Retinol that caused this? Another translation said he didn’t see one. He went to a “spa”. I guess like what he is doing now. Retinoids are pretty strong and must be carefully used. Asian skin is extremely sensitive and oilier. They also live in a hot, humid environment.

@@DiM2646 I think you’re correct. I’ll see some people say “squeeze harder!” on inflamed, even infected pimples. Which-I have to admit-was me when I first started watching pimple popping videos a few years ago. I didn’t fully connect that there’s a human under those pimples… and they’re already hurting before the first pimple is touched. Squeezing those inflamed areas harder or more than once can cause excruciating pain… which will likely result in them never coming back and never seeking treatment elsewhere. And it’s guaranteed to cause more & worsened scarring… among other things. It’s definitely been an educational experience for me since I first started watching these. Based on comments and conversations with other kind “long-termers” here, I think it’s been that way for a lot of us.

Since we don't have a new video today decided to rewatch this one again lol. Something I've noticed with Gy, his acne plugs are odd. They have odd almost sharp edges, not smooth or symmetrical. Don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it before but I bet it makes things more uncomfortable to extract. He's so brave and tough!!❤❤❤

As he lives in Taiwan now, would he and his mom have the funds to pay for a doctor? Despite being a communist country, healthcare isn't totally free in Vietnam, and I read that most have insurance to pay.

@@DiM2646 They’re working on a universal healthcare program, but I read that 2 years ago. I don’t think they’ve made much progress. They certainly can’t afford private insurance.

I do know that almost 90% of the population have health insurance coverage, which is a government scheme usually, and the government fully covers the health insurance costs of the poor, ethnic minorities, children under 6, and elderly people over 80. It's a bit like our National Health Service, free at the point of contact, paying for some services, but completely free for the young, the elderly and vulnerable groups, and paid for by taxes. There's a private sector here too, as in Vietnam. I just didn't know the position of GY and his family, Vietnamese nationals living in Taiwan. Are they still classed as nationals? Or foreigners? Does any travel insurance cover medical intervention, from a doctor? Can they afford travel insurance? And I read that while things are improving, the medical system isn't excellent, it's patchy, and it's only classed about 130 out of 160 countries. So people saying, see a doctor, may not be an option and they may have to rely on Thuy's contacts.
