Sachin Tendulkar full of praise for Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist

At a press conference to launch his autobiography 'Playing It My Way', Sachin Tendulkar has words of praise for former opponents Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist.

We should not compare players from different teams and different eras. They all were unique in their own way and served the game to the best of their capability. To me personally, the modern greats were Sachin, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Kumara Sangakkara and Jacque Kallis who stood out from the rest. Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag were mercurial talents, both unpredictable and unstoppable when they were on song. True cricket lovers would always admire a good player irrespective of which country he belongs to.

Darth Immortallis you are absolutely correct. I'm an Indian and the reason for this throughout all the sports India plays there has been no true greats who have been the absolute best at what they do, until sachin came along. he was in a way salvation for India as we finally had our own warrior or brag about. I'm sorry if any Indian has insulted you,just know that the reason is it is one of the few things that we can brag and show off about :)

Tendulkar in the book was hypocritical honestly, I'll state why.. Recollecting the Sydney test 2007, he said Gilchrist played unfairly when he caught dravid off Symonds with the ball hardly touching the bat, he said Gilchrist was known to play fairly and would walk when out,but he did an unfair deed at Sydney, inferring that Gilchrist was hypocritical, Gilchrist however had apologised for this and had said that he genuinely felt dravid gloved it. Tendulkar on the contrary was hypocritical, in 2008, he was caught behind off Stuart Clarke and there was a clean edge but the umpire gave him not out, he didn't walk then, In the 2011 wc vs west indies he walked off when given not out, emulating Gilchrist's honesty.. just because india were in a comfortable position there.. This is why Tendulkar I felt was a hypocrite On the contrary,
