I've noticed that FM24's board evaluations have been very harsh. I'm doing a tier 6 save with Scunthorpe, won the Vanarama North at a canter, won the FA trophy, worked well within wage budget, and am currently sat on a B minus! I made the jump to FM24 from FM21, and the difference in board appreciation is one of the starkest contrasts (along with goal keeper injuries) that I've found.

The dynamics are FM24 from players to the board seem to need a few patches to fix. Because they are overly harsh

I'm just shocked to learn that appearance fees and other bonus have to be paid in friendly matches. I just assumed bonuses only counted in official matches.

Idk why your shocked they are showing up to work which means they deserve pay whether it’s a friendly or not doesn’t matter.

@@bammbamm1226 well they do get paid their base salary + loyalty bonuses. So i just thought the performance based incentives only counted in official matches. Like you dont get your goal bonus for goals at practice which also is work. Also what if you have a match at practice should that count for your bonuses too? So where is the line drawn? You dont get official apperances from frindlies so i just made the wrong assumption apparently. Edit: I tried to look it up. Some people say its only for official matches but i could not find any official word about it.

@@mikkelkrath200 practices and friendlies are 2 totally different things. Where the only difference between a friendly and regular match is there are no points to be gained by either team.

@@bammbamm1226 I agree with part of it. But you can play a match at training too where the same rules apply as a normal match. Sometimes there are also closed practice matches between two teams where rules might be different or you can sub people in and out freely or whatever. I guess it just depends on how you look at it. A friendly match to me can be just as much practice and about learning/ trying things out as a session on the training ground.

I had a promise to play someone in their preferred role. Did it, got the message to say they were happy and it was resolved. Next day they handed in a transfer request because of the same issue. Some stuff with this isn’t quite right 😂

The 3-ST formation might not be sustainable enough in my opinion Maybe going to a brazilian box or a diamond midfield shape with two up top could help steady the ship and protect the backline better if you want the wingbacks to hold the width

I've got my fingers crossed for your first 5 games. You've got the team predicted to finish 1st in the league among those 5 so hopefully you start hot. In FM 23 playing with Rugby Town was like playing on very easy...apparently chairman Brian Melvin had his patience taken away in this years release.

Amazing episode. I love a good transfer special, but the drama is normally only player related. The contract issue, the board not understanding what a C and satisfied mean, and coming after you twice in 2 days, made this an all in exciting roller coaster. Can't wait for the beginning of the season.

Feels like SI need to cade a middle ground between reached and failed a goal. Something like Fell Short, for when you didn't reach it but it's not like you were million miles away.

Something wrong with the FM board right now. Got sacked by Luton yesterday after having 3 consecutive meetings about my future in the span of two weeks where I convinced them to give me another go next season, where they agreed. Holidayd for a week and came back fired thinking it couldn't possibly happen a 4th time rip

Change ur wide strikers so shadow strikers, still will be just as attacking but will have less holes in the team and will be defensively more solid

Maybe go to a diamond instead of the 3 striker system? Especially given your two young talents prefer CAM anyway. Plus one of the wingbacks on support or as a fullback might give more defensive solidity?

The non contract only in the second season also happened to my save in fm23. I think it has something to do with the custom lower league database because the issue was non existent after I changed to another database.

I've also had an issue in May/June where my signing capabilities are limited. Has happened in vanorama national leagues and bottom spanish leagues. April and July I have normal capabilities, but yeah it drops in May/June for some reason.

I've been getting a lot of problems with semi-pro clubs not able to offer semi-pro contracts and everyone also asking only for fulltime. Feels like it's been a bug.

I feel like strikers on this FM aren't working very well - so 3 strikers might be the issue (The defending issue is pretty much the match engine as everyone concedes too often). I see IW or IF doing more goals than strikers in my teams (10 seasons into a save)

It's the same as what I've noticed. Seems to be very different from last year's FM where you could easily make your striker score goals a season but IFs struggled a lot

To save money on wages in contact negotiations remove appearance fee and unused sub fee. They may ask for £10/20 extra per week but works out less than paying appearance fees

I feel like a 5 defender formation isnt really effective. youre at a level where the defenders are so egregiously bad that no matter how many there are back defending, they will always make goal leading mistakes or be skinned by the attackers. I feel like you could utilise having an extra attack minded midfielder or attacker instead and focus making more of an overload in attack to capitalise on the other teams horrifically bad defenders.--- I wrote this before seeing the formation change so nevermind 😭😭
