Every year Bantayan Island celebrates Holy Week like no other place in the Philippines. The Holy Week processions are a spectacle with life-sized images paraded around dressed in beautifully tailored costumes, extravagant carrozas, and mountains of flowers.
The one procession that everyone looks forward to the most is the one held at Parroquia de San Pedro Apostol, also known as St. Peter and Paul’s Parish Church located in the heart of Bantayan Island. The Holy Week processions depict the central theme of the Catholic faith - the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and is one of the biggest shows of faith and solidarity among the faithful.

The biggest Kota was the whole Poblacion area of Bantayan proper, remnants can be seen in Doña homes and in Suba Sto Rosario area since the front part of the plaza was a shoreline then
