Wonderful, some people believe that holding seeds in your mouth for a while before sowing helps the seeds establish a link with us so they grow with us in mind.
@DanusIrishHerbGarden3 жыл бұрын
Yes I have heard that and did try it some years back. Not greta with the teeny tiny seeds as they stick to your tongue, but I do love the idea of it.

Finding this channel has been the highlight of this year so far for me! A kindred spirit, familiar even though we dont know each other. Thank you, thank you, thank you for creating these beautiful, informational videos. I watch them and realize that the little "quirks" i have that everyone thinks are so strange are things that you do too and now i dont feel so alone. I feel the same with my "babies" and thought as soon as i saw the mirror that it is a brilliant idea! So im going to grab one in the house and do the same thing today to even out the light!

Lovely thoughts about seeds and what it means to save and plant seeds. It truly is a magical responsibility, and a wonderful way to connect with our ancestors. My mom and I ring a bell over the dirt once the seeds are planted. They seem to like this. It wakes them up!

I now have a totally different and lovely attitude towards the seedlings that I will be introducing into my garden this year. We still have (at least) another month of winter here (I live on the west coast of Canada so winters here are not as long as back east or on the prairies)... but I will do my best to nurture them (inside) while we wait for spring ...

Hi Terri, very informative video, like the tip re the toilet rolls which we will use. What a simple but great idea. We have been recycling ours for years, not any more👍Wishing you both luck with the rebuild project. I guess that the window frames are very exposed to the bad weather during winter. Have they been given a coat of paint every four years or is that the original paint hence the deterioration? Thanks for posting. 🙏
@DanusIrishHerbGarden3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris,WE are only 5 mins from the coast and the south west winds, laden with salt, hit the greenhouse full on. We do repaint but it is a battle and the wood was all reclaimed to begin with.

@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Wow Terri. That is also helpful as we are about to move close to the sea in West Sussex. I guess that our outbuildings, which are painted with wood preservative will need a much more regular maintenance for the same reason. Sounds as though I am going to be busy 🙏

Im using my toilet paper rolls this year as part of my compost in place. However, I originally saved them for growing seeds, but I was quite worried that my kitten would have other uses for them. I saw you have marshmallow plants growing there. Here its hard to find them, and when you do their bought up just as quick. I'm bound and determined to get some this year, even if I have to wait for the end of the growing season

@@carolineflanagan6855 Donegal and kerry along with Connemara of course, are our favourite places. All of these counties are rural and on the coast. Do your research before you make up your mind. There are other counties such as Roscommon which is further inland but property is probably cheaper. It depends on how much you have to spend and how you want to live when you get here. There are also country towns you could look at.
