Great questions and insightful answers - Anu and Martin! Enjoying watching the video... Off the cuff thoughts (more to continue): Seeking Guidance, expressing gratitude, surrendering one's ego even if it momentarily...that's what sacred sites stand for indeed! The memory of a place...the impressions of devotion and love...charge the environs with divinity...visitors feel the energy and feel recharged. So when you sit and pray and meditate you actually add to the spirit of the place and also get to take what your soul needs... Ancient sites are more powerful if frequented without stop...but some temples are home to idols made with special ingredients that heal if consumed as part of teertha in small quantities. Some idols are pre-energized by chants. Some temples clear / absorb negative auras of individuals if they perform perambulations...and my Guru tells me that for just this reason it is not healthy to touch the temple walls around the periphery, especially behind the moola virat in some temples. Experiential learning and discovery is the best way and you are blessed to have the freedom and the means to do so! Martin, your website sacredsites.com is really a labor of love...but in Telanaga where am from there are some really special places you should cover...maybe next time! :)
