Most of the ships in inuyasha have pretty big age gaps, and at least sesshomaru doesn’t ask every girl he meets to bear his children like miroku ( # sesshomaru x older rin for life)

I know that some people dislike the SessRin ship but think about it In demon years Inuyasha is like two hundred years old while Kagome is 15/16 in the series... but then again in human years Inuyasha would be 15-17 years old... I think Sesshomaru is like 19 years old in human years... and Rin is... 10? 11? Either way depending on how many years have passed since the Inuyasha series to the Next Gen. I wouldn't say it's necessarily... wrong? I don't know how the world works anymore after I began to watch Inuyasha🤣

I think what people are finding weird about it was that Sesshomaru knew and cared for Rin when she was a child. The entire basis of their relationship was when we knew Rin as a kid, people just can't rap their heads around an adult and a kids romantic relationship, even if Rin is of age in the next gen. Also the word grooming comes up a lot, and I don't think anything of the kind takes place in Inuyasha, but in real world scenarios it would immediately be assumed that the older was grooming the younger. (For instance if the older is 25, makes friends with a 12 year old, and then the two immediately get together when the younger becomes of age so it's legal, other people will assume the older was grooming the younger this whole time, guiding their developing personality and taking advantage of their naivety) It's actually a good sign that people are wary of it, we might understand the circumstances in the Inuyasha universe, but in real life situations that's definitely something you want to look out for.
