UNFAIR Chaos Elfilis Mod: PANDEMONIC ELFILIS Boss Fight - Kirby and the Forgotten Land

"Forgotten Land can be so freely edited compared to Star Allies and Return to Dream Land Deluxe" - Faye, about half a year ago I would give some insightful commentary, but my mortal mind cannot even comprehend what is going on here - this is beautiful chaos (i still cannot fathom why lasers are guardable in KatFL) "That looked pretty tough! Would you like to switch to Spring Breezier Mode?"

I should probably explain some things in this video: - Pandemonic Elfilis will actually heal an additional 100 HP every hit they take during Genome Repairs, which is why I don't attack until the recovery wave finishes. Similarly, it is impossible to remove the core the first time Elfilis is knocked over. - Some of the footage at the end of the video showing failed attempts are from slightly earlier versions of the mod, which is why the background is the base game gray color instead of the blue-green background I made. You'll notice in some of that footage, I'm being chased by two lasers. That is not a removed feature, the first half of phase 1 gets harder the longer you take to beat it; every time Elfilis uses Genome Repairs, they heal 50 more HP than last time, and eventually, there will be two lasers if you take too long. - The Core phase completely ignores Guarding and and all forms of invincibility other than the invincibility you get right after swallowing an ability, which is why after using guarding and dodges so much in the first battle, I don't do it at all against the Core. (The only exception is Planetarium Dream Tour which you can guard against.) Essentially, the first fight is all about using your Dodge and Guard well, while the fight with the Core is all about avoiding attacks without the Dodge or Guard!

I would like to see a mod of the Morpho Knight boss, specifically recoloring him to his EX form in Kirby Star Allies. You already did the copy ability, now all that's left is the boss fight.

Yknow, just yesterday i was talking with a friend about how much i wanted to see both more Forgotten Land mods and more Kirby boss fight mods that add new mechanics to the fight rather than just faster attacks. I truly love how some of the attacks aren't just "random bullsh*t GO!", rather they actually require some effort to dodge. Like the core ramming attack, where you just need to keep airborne for long enough. There's some genuine design behind some of these and i love that as a concept.

The only thing wrong with this mod is that some of the attacks aren’t telegraphed well. Idk how the code works specifically, but maybe try to have the portals that stay there become somewhat translucent after that attack finishes up so the player can get a better sense of timing the guards/dodges when Elfilis attacks from above. 1:01 Make the permanent laser more quiet so the player can hear the audio cue for the giant swing attack, 4:17 Also for the second phase shrink the fire aura significantly on this attack so the player knows to go to the sides of the stage rather than thinking it’s unavoidable. 13:09 One more thing that’s just an optional aesthetic flourish, but it would be cool if the core goes through different portals as it’s rushing you multiple times instead of awkwardly going to the corner. 13:20 I know this all sounds kinda picky, and negative, but everything I absolutely adore about this mod has already been said.

As crazy and often obnoxiously memey as these kinds of mods often get I like them more in Kirby than most games. Kirby has all this lore about how insanely over powered some of his opponents are, and while the gameplay can be fun and occasionally reflect that, most of the time you don't have to do much to belittle them quickly. These sorts of mods are a kinda cool way to get to see what the boss would have been like for someone less overpowered by the powers of friendship and divinity as Kirby.
