Sacrifice | Gay Romance, Drama Short Film | We Are Pride

Sacrifice is a traditional love story told from an unseen viewpoint in the eyes of an LGBTQ couple James Hunter and Blake Robinson. Created and written by Leigh Smith, the film follows the two protagonists as they enter a new phase in their relationship. James, a humanitarian rights lawyer and Blake a military officer are continually torn apart by their overwhelming sense of duty and struggle to lead a ‘normal and quiet life’. An unconditional love coupled with a sense of duty that is equally as important.
Prior to 1992 in Australia, LGBTQI Military were forced to hide their sexuality, facing discharge if exposed. Until now these individuals have been written out of Australia's Military history.
These soldiers did their duty as they were asked, making the sacrifices that were required. This film is dedicated to all those individuals and all that have fought for love in the face of adversity.

My main issue was James blaming Julia. Second was James whining about Blake deploying. Dude, he's a soldier. So my issue was the whole James character. I'm possibly so harsh because I'm former military. But this was a great film.

@lawrenceking4144---Thank you for your service. This film was only a glimpse in their lives. We never know how we will react in certain situations and we don't know what they talked about after the initial shock of the loss. It could be that he was so happy for their relationship to move forward and just lashed out at Julia when he found out the news. Unfortunately some people have to have someone to blame for whatever reason. I agree with your comments, but also wish we could have seen his character in a different light.

Then he shouldn't have married James! Hate to tellyou, if being a soldier is so much more important, marry your career. My Dad and two uncles were WWII veterans, so there is service THEN family, not marriage, I'm off to the military regardless of the spiuse's wishes, and...! PRIORITIES!

People of OUR LGBTQIA+ community are been wriiten out of the military history...😳..... Is this really true....❓️❗️If so .....😠😤😡🤬🤬😡. ...
