At 5 minutes and 50 seconds, in that kitchen corner cabinet there is a little tiny glass mug with a handle. It is a small root beer mug which they used to give free to children under 5 years old whenever you would visit the A&W Root Beer Stand drive-in restaurant where they would come out to your car to take your order, you would order however many mugs of root beer along with if you wanted any burgers or fries and they would bring it back to your car. I was born in 1960. I remember these little baby root beer mugs. Children under 5 years old would always get a free mug of root beer where the older kids and adults would get regular size glass mugs of icy cold A&W Root Beer. It was the best root beer you've ever tasted.

I bought a mug for myself and my son got the baby mug. Used to be a drive in A&W in Junction City Ks. My son was born in 1979, they were still in business then.

What an incredible house this must have been back in the day. I have to admit that every time I watch a video like this I want to weep. All that beautiful antique furniture just sitting there forgotten. How wonderful it would be to be able to save it so that future generations could see the beauty of it. Thank you for posting this wonderful. yet sad, video.

That consel radio is a Wilco. Also known as the magic eye. They were A.M. band. Tubes, magnificent sound quality. Circa 1940. Admiral refrigerators were top of the line. Some quality antiques in that house. Saw chairs (dining) that run $800.00 a piece in antique shops. Antiquers dream come true..

My mother did our laundry with an old wringer washer like that. For white things she had to boil water on the stove, (it was a cold water flat), everything else was laundered in cold water. The soap was Fels-Naptha which was in a bar that she would chip up with a knife. Seeing that brought back so many memories. Thank you.

My mom didnt get a modern washer till i was 6 (1953). Till then she used the wringer Maytag, and i can remember her warning me to keep my hands clear. My aunt had a couple fingers crushed by one. She lived out in the country and used her wringer machine till about 1960. I remember mom using that old Fels-Naptha soap too. Thanks for the memories.

That's really cool that you took your Mom with you on this wonderful explore, this house is amazing with all of the antiques in it!! And cooler that your Mom can help you date some of that stuff! I have always wanted to do what you do, but no one wanted to go with me. Of course I wouldn't go by myself since I'm older because I have retrictions on stuff that I'm able to do, that is why I thank you for sharing your explores!! Such a AWESOME find Kappy, thanks!! P.S. Urban Exploring With Kappy Holy Cow is for real!!! Kappy gotta hand it to you. You really find the most precious gems of the past. I just love your channel. Glad you brought your mom along for this one. She had to have really enjoyed seeing things from the past. Admiral existed in my lifetime. (50's) Made appliances and had a good name so to speak. Upstairs that might be an old radio not a juke box. I recall my great aunt having a huge one too. It was made of wood also. The hardware on the doors also age this house pretty far back. Maybe before 1900. Beautiful antiques that could be restored. Back then furniture was solid wood not like today and it was heavy. (I have a lot of antiques and cherish those family heirlooms. My double bed had loops to run the straps that held up a "mattress" usually filled with hay or horsehair. It's high off the floor because beds were warmer raised up. It also had poles to place a covered drape all around the bed to insulate the sleeping area and has a blanket roll at end of bed to easily slide a blanket up.) The mirrored "dresser" upstairs was a wardrobe piece of furniture 'cause closets weren't built until later. You hung up your clothes inside. The washer, probably 40's, wrung out your clothes as dry as you were gonna get until you hung them out to dry. My great aunt always warned me to keep my hands away from the wringers. That barn was awesome too. Like standing history books! Slate roof was more often the case back then if you could afford it. Very little upkeep but heavy. Took a sturdily built house to roof. I noticed some Avon boxes from about the 70's stacked somewhere. What a tragedy no one wants to save some items, hardware, etc. or auction the contents. Still curious about the contents of the upstairs trunk. This is truly a find and a marvelous time capsule. Hats off to you again!!!!

Kappy, I Googled M68 ammo and found it's 105mm rounds for a British tank gun! Seems it can be removed from the turret without dismantling it---but I doubt you could fire it from the hip, like "Ahnold" fired the mini-gun in "Terminator 2" (though it wouldn't surprise me, since Hollywood's motto is "My mind is made up, don't confuse me with facts.")

The Ammo crates could be "Nam" era. As mentioned in a previous comment, this is a tank gun ammo case. However the M-68 gun is the American version of the British L-7. It was first mounted in the M-60 series tanks which came online in 1961. In the Mid70s the gun was also used to upgrade the M48 Patton tank to the M48A5 .The gun was later used in the earliest version of the M1 Abrams. The APDS on the box stands for Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot. US ceased using this type of round in the early 80s.

Admiral has been around since 1934---yes, "has been," as it's now owned by Whirlpool. They made everything from portable radios (including for the US military during WW2), TVs (quite expensive, but all of them were back then), kitchen appliances (we actually had an Admiral refrigerator and TV when I was a kid)---everything you can imagine. Good quality, they were backed by good guarantees. Antiques galore---and a mini-bike, the first one I've seen in an explore! BTW, that "juke box" was an old AM/FM, or just AM, floor model cabinet radio. I used to sit in front of one similar to that when I was a kid, back in the '40s, listening to "Terry and the Pirates," "The FBI in Peace and War," and "Tom Mix," to name a few.

Kappy about that refrigerator, Admiral was a famous brand name in major appliances for the home here in America. I don’t think they are still around anymore. Nice antiques in this old house. Didn’t see any bathrooms so they must have had out houses in the late 1800’s. You have to wonder why anybody would leave all those valuable antiques. Thanks for sharing with us.

That was a REALLY good explore..you had a right to say 'Holy cow..' as much as you want to ! lol.. There was some wonderful old, antique furniture left in there. But should of been taken out long time ago, some could still be saved & refurbished. But it'll probably just rot away with the house now. I love antiques but have some now I have to sell or do something with, i can't take them with me when I move, I'm downsizing. The closing on my house was today & I have up to 60 days to move. So I have a lot to get rid of. But I sure hate to see all those In there waste away. Great video, I sure enjoyed watching this. Be careful & stay safe.

This is one of your best finds! My heart breaks when I watch these videos, but I'm also excited because this has been an obsession since I was a little girl. I know you don't touch things or open drawers or anything like that, but sometimes I wish you would because you might find some clues as to who use to live there. Also I wish you would open doors in the houses because usually behind those doors are other rooms. I feel you are missing out. Old houses always have rooms next to rooms that can only be gotten into by a room and not a hallway. I'm so jealous of the explores you go on and thanks for letting us hear a little of whoever is with you. I'd like to hear more. LOVED this video!

I would also like to comment, before the banks or however in your country knocks down old houses, could they please at least try to recycle whatever can be recycled..??Or take really good antiques, to a museum, or gallery...etc. It seems such a waste. I have seen so many beautiful old doors. My home was built in the 80s and the doors and windows are really trashy. I have an old Admiral fridge that is over 30 years old and still works.!!!

Great find and explore! I remember the hardware on the first door with the lock being on my grandparents old farm house doors in Kennedy Tx. some had old skeleton keys inside the locks

All of that furniture looks like back in the late 1930's. I was born in 1947 & we had that furniture. My mother also had a wringer washer, yet I was using one in the 1970's. We had old door knobs like those with the metal square box behind it, with the flip lock on top of it (whatever they're called). As for the stove, when I was a little girl my Grandmother cooked on one of those. Great find! Reminds me of the 40's.

I bet if you plug in that Admiral it'll run.In the 40ies/early 50ies refrigerators(and cars)were predominantly American,as well as in Holland(I'm Dutch)as in Indonesia(our former colony). They would like run forever. We still use a 1948 Frigidaire,3 years ago the Meter-Miser finally gave out so we replaced it with a 1/4 hp Panasonic, because here in Indonesia one can't buy American fridges anymore, all Japanese(very expensive)or local/Chinese(junk). All of those great old marques are gone now.Cars too.Holden(GM Australia)closed too.Finished.

Truth, my friend has a 1950's Frigidaire in his basement as a beer fridge and the thing works as well as it did when it rolled out of the factory.

I am always amazed at these old farm houses you find to explore I loved it when you open the cabinet and it was so clean inside not a lot of dust I do believe that you edit your videos. We want to see what is in cabinets and cupboards just the stuff on the floor was interesting the picture of John Kennedy Jr at his father's funeral stuff like that I noticed the old trunk in the bedroom and a few minutes later you show a label from inside the trunk but you do not explain that. stove in the kitchen and the wringer washer all the great stuff in the garage. I have seen other explores show attics with some kind of an extension rod I was so dissapointed about the attic I do love your videos I look forward to them

Goodcatch. I wondered why he didn't comment on it until I realized he probably had no idea who that little kid was. Gotta admit, that photo kind of gave me the chills. Also, wasn't that a Kodak Brownie camera in the cabinets? Wonderful video.

Another great tour. That farmhouse really old judging from slate roof, wood ceilings and door hardware. Love it. Shame rotting but seen many old houses go that way. Definitely hoarder house. But someone has been thru and picked up nicer things easily movable judging by empty cabinets. Love your style. Thank you!

There are a lot of practical items as well as antiques. It always disturbs me when I see so much waste when so many needy people have almost nothing. All that silverware! Fans. Books. Furniture. Such a shame. And to think there are countless places all over the world like this. Even some homes still liveable. Thanks for the vid.💔🤔✌

I'd go to the county website and find the owner of this place. The sale from the furniture would pay for the investment. Can you imagine a farm auction there? This had been a beautiful house.

If that Admiral refrigerator was plugged in, it would probably still work. The older refrigerators lasted such a long time. And, the large radio likely also had a shortwave feature. I remember my Grandpa listening to his floor model Philco, picking up folks talking in foreign languages all around the world. I' m glad you had your Mom along. I wish the younger explorers would take along someone old enough to remember these old things in use.
