Yes emotionally low, but practically best decision...besides pollution they are a drain on forex as we produce only 15% of oil we produce

This really saddens my heart seeing how these EMDs and alcos are being treated, especially seeing such a new locomotive like #20057 with its original cab look rusting at kjm, I feel from since when swr started to get electrified and kjm got wap7 it has completely ignored the diesals that have served the division much more efficiently then what the electrics are doing, I had passed other diesal sheds like UBL and GTL and GY but there all the locomotives reguardless electric or diesal were activity being maintained and the shed was more lively then kjm, even alcos at Guntakal were running normally and the locomotives were all at mainline and side line services like how a shed is supposed to be, even Hubli all the locomotives were activity doing duties and being maintained once I was even lucky enough to see a UBL WDG4 load testing being done on while I was travelling in ksk, I really feel that kjm maintenance quality has really dropped down after electrification 😢 Hope swr starts to realise that just maintaining electrics won't do any good to the running of trains in the zone as most of the south of Maharashtra, North or Karnataka and few other SCR and NWR trains are still dependent on kjm diesal locomotives

@@trainfanner47 my most recent visit to Hubli line I saw the shed activity maintaing it's locomotives as Hubli locomotives plays a really important role in the Hubli and Konkan railway division, and most of the Hubli locomotives look old but work like brand new unlike kjm where we can evidently see how terrible they are at maintaining it's diesal locomotives, if you compare the efficiency of locomotives UBL is doing a great job, even tho they have WAG 9 HCs in the same shed they aren't neglecting the diesals like kjm

It's better that all the EMD and Alco engines are used only for train shunting purposes forever in India 🇮🇳 or they can be migrated from India 🇮🇳 to Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 where all the trains run only by diesel locomotives. SriLankan railways is fully a diesel train running zone where DEMU trains run as well as the Alco and EMD engines regularly haul the trains.

As mentioned by other rail fan these locomotives can be sold to our nighbour countries such as Bangladesh and Pakistan as their locomotives being used are not of that standards as our EMDS and alcos. They can be sold to them as they are in dire need. Recently I saw a clip where abt 30 Alcoa being transferred to Bangladesh railway this way we can earn a lot of money..hope the concerned authorities take it into consideration

As per Indian Railways order, railways will still use diesel loco EMD Locos not Alco locomotive after electrifcation, because they are still need for shunting, critical situation like electric loco failure, Power block,its not that easy to completely eliminate diesel locos especially EMD loco, let's watch

Its better sent them off to Neighbouring countries like Bangladesh/Pakistan or Sri Lanka instead of scraping and not using them if Indian Railways don't want to keep them because New diesel loco EMD/GE locomotives aren't old,they have potential to run smoothly,fuel efficient until their span life

My home (is) KJM. My favorite ALCO sounds are going to be silent forever 😢. EMDs being halted!!! Really surprising. At least they can cannibalise a few and make others run. Or convert them into EOGs

Railways won't dare to do such things because scrapping policy is implemented to ALCO locomotive only!! because their life span is getting over ,not fuel efficient & pollution issues.Chances are less of scrapping EMD Locomotives,they are still needed in critical situation like shunting, OHE Power block,let's watch
