It took me since last October to finish this video, I wasn't sure which scenes i had to pick, which chain of thought I wanted to follow... but mostly it was my studies sucking out the life out of me lol...
No seriously, I wanted to make this video as a sort of message, to show through my favorite characters that :
You need to see the bigger picture first before judging people, try understand their reasons (Kol Mikaelson desperate to stop raising Silas) instead of jumping to conclusions (like Ned stark did to Jaime) Because at the end of the day we're all human and all do impulsive things in the heat of the moment, it's how we handle it and deal with the consequences that determines how good or bad we are.
No matter how many people bring you down, you are the only one who can determine your own worth, do what you know is right and your great deeds will testify for themselves (Like Laurel did)
If you make mistakes, but you want to be better then do it and never listen to the people who can't see past one side of you, If 40 years old crippled Jaime Lannister says there's still time then there is also for you.
Even if you don't believe in yourself, sometimes a hero is hidden underneath you and rough times reveal it in time (Jimmy being the one to save Chloe from Davis, the human part of the beast that Clark was so desperate to save)
You can go through rough times, addiction, alcoholism, like Laurel, Jimmy and Oliver but if you're brave and strong enough you can pull through...
The greatest heroes aren't the ones everyone love, who always make the right choices and are never questioned, the greatest heroes are the ones who get constantly hurt, betrayed, beaten and hated, but still they find the goodness to risk their lives over and over for those people if not the whole world, they never give up, they never let the darkness change them like Derek, who lost everything and everyone he ever loved, who was betrayed by the people who called themselves friends (Scott forcing him to turn Gerard), but still goes out of his way to repeatedly save scott getting hurt in the process, save Chris Argent who was from the family that burned his...
"I am a predator but I don't have to be a killer"
and even when he gives up his alpha status to save his sister, it doesn't stop him from helping make beacon hills safer
"I may not be an alpha anymore but I can still fight like one"
Or like Castiel, who saved the world twice but was deemed a villain the second time because Dean only cared about himself and his brother, Castiel who was abused for a decade by the people who called themselves his family but still helped them, who died at least 5 times to save others and only got hated in return and he still wants to help, and still tries never letting his "mistakes" stop him from being the true hero
Castiel who rebelled against heaven over and over leading them to tear into his head and wash it clean for all eternity but it never stays that way, because Castiel is a hero at his core, and no brainwashing, pain and loss can ever make him lose that
The Real Heroes are the ones who put people's lives before and above any moral concept about "honor" and "killing" because their safety comes before their reputation or being loved.

Even tho I'm a big shipper (made a vid two years ago to them vs kolvina) also he's not the usual badass, but he was great and the way they made him the not canon jimmy that was low Exactly, she has potential, she's badass, she reminds me of katherine on tvd in a way but for her to become like our Laurel? Idk it just doesn't fit, Laurel is the light to the darkness she's a hero out of goodness not a sort of redemption like olie and sara But still I'd rather have siren as black canary 2.0 than tina

ofc he is, the show loves to downgrade anything he does as "he just helps, he's never a hero that role could only be filled by the winchesters" but the truth is, those winchesters would've been so dead without him, cas made mistakes but he owns them and tries to do better, he always instantly forgives all the bad that is done to him, he has the purest of hearts when it comes to saving people as he puts no one above that or any morals, that's what i love about him #CastielIsOurHero

This hits close to me especially since I've related to Stiles when I thought I was more like Lydia. I relate to his Generalized Anxiety Disorder which is the same anxiety disorder I currently still have before I watched the show(got it diagnosed when I was 17), especially when it gets confused with ADHD by others. I got cat-fished and then red in between the lines of the story, then it was solved which my family then called me a hero for it but I didn't feel like one instead I felt like the bad guy in there the reason in which was that I could've had the risk of putting my family in danger due to my own selfish reasons for belonging and connection from others because of how isolated I once felt in high school. I'm struggling with this overwhelming fear that I'm going to do the same except I'll put my family in danger again and make the same stupid decision. I still don't think of myself as a hero because I'm not and I don't want to burden anyone with my problems which is why my family doesn't believe I have G.A.D because I've pretended my whole life to the point where I don't seem to have any other disorders than depression and autism, eventually my friends didn't see it either and I basically can't trust anyone here as well so basically I can't talk to anyone about this only just here to vent, but hopefully someone will understand.

As if Castiel didn't abuse his "family". Breaking Sam's mental wall, beating up Dean like that when he knew Dean was broken & was only going to say yes to Michael to try & minimise damage, when he didn't trust Dean (& Sam) with the Angel tablet even after his mind control of Naomi got broken, when he used Sam & Dean by lying to them & sending them to another universe in "French Mistake" where they could've been killed by that assassin Angel Virgil, when he knocked out Sam & Dean after killing Dagon & just left them unconscious & vulnerable when he knew that angels & demons were all looking for TFW. So Yes, Castiel is a hero, I agree, but he's not so innocent like you are showing him as if he's the only one who was treated wrong & didn't do anything wrong himself.

constant emotional abuse is a completely different thing than a fight once in 5 years, it's all about the track record, and how they overall treat each other, castiel loves the brothers and repeatedly sacrificed himself for them, but he sometimes made mistakes, dean however always brings him down, insults him, takes him for granted and orders him around 1- breaking sam's wall, that was ooc and unnecssary and the only reason it happened is to give a half exuse for stupid writers to get rid of cas, because one point of view character (dean) is already too much for them to handle 2- dean could have said yes on s4 instead cas sacrificed everything, good people died for him so he had the right to get angry about it, and actually your knowledge is lacking, that spell is meant to send angels off to heaven and since heaven was closed on s8e23+ they go somewhere else, so when dean used it on 5x18 he sent castiel to his death 3- "he didn't trust dean and sam" that's just a bisaed dean stan thing to say, dean made it all about himself, cas was the only one who could teleport, cas took the tablet to PROTECT THEM from the angels, even if dean's assumption was right how could you blame cas? when he asks something it's always a NO and at his weakest he got abused any sane person would not even help dean anymore let alone trust him 4- "used and lied to sam and sent them to another universe" that was balthazar's plan, here you show some hypocrisy, it's fine for dean to send cas off to heaven as distraction but when cas does it it's bad? even if the stakes were different, dean did it as stupid avoidable distraction cas did it because had raphael (you know the big bad guy of s6 people keep ignoring in favor of blaming cas for everything) found those weapons he would have caused the end of the world but hey since it's not dean the hero then it's not our problem 5- angels and demons were looking for them on season 12??? really? did we watch the same show? whatever i guess you needed other reason to prove how 4 mistakes completely justify the OVERALL treatment cas got? because he fought with them a few times it gave dean the right to forget all the good and sacrifices he did for thm and treat him as his slave? to constantly bring him down? remember when dean used to be a decent person when he apologized to the guy he called fat in prison ? nah i guess people are so desperate to defnd anything dean does to realised how much the writers ruined him this video is not about "cas is better" "cas is perfect" but rather, yes cas made mistakes but he did SO MUCH MORE GOOD that everyone conviniently keep forgetting and only remind him of the bad, that the people who claim him as family rarely treated him as such (dean got less abusive after s10 i give you that but then again the writers reduced cas' screentime too so....) and HE DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER THAN HE GOT, he deserved a family who valued him, who respected him who defended him who tried to reach out and understand him instead of condemning him for the same things they keep doing, he deserved to be forgiven because he's family and they love him, like they do with each other, without seeing cas having to grovel to earn dean's approval, without seeing cas having his mistakes constantly thrown at his face when dean's are completely ignored and we have to ignore they happened or we're not good fans, he deserved a family that would set aside their fued and help him when he's at his lowest instead of selling him off to a demon who wanted to use him, or be cruel to him when he's not responsive enough after giving up his sanity to make up for his mistake, because that's the difference between cas and dean, when cas makes a mistake he has to endlessly apologize and make up for it, when dean wrongs him it's not even acknowledged and cas has to act as if nothing happened at all, that was the point of this vid

Castiel always is aloof AF towards Dean & under the guise of being caring towards him, always manipulates & abuses him emotionally. Even towards Sam sometimes. You are ready to deem Cas's abusiveness as 'mistakes' but with Dean that courtesy isn't extended. 1) If Dean's mistakes aren't considered OOC or breaking points, then why should that apply to Castiel? 2) YOUR knowledge is lacking, considering it's literally been shown that it simply blasts them away, not to heaven, like a repulsion force. Heaven was later reopened by Metatron in S9E22, so that doesn't fit. Also the whole point of S4 & 5 was not saying Yes. 3) You are acting like a biased AF Cas stan who's totally negatory towards Dean's POV in that case. Literally after Dean spent a whole year in Purgatory for him, Cas couldn't show a shred of trust? He didn't get abused when he was at his weakest, he literally was left with Meg as Leviathan were after Sam & Dean. & after the events of what Cas did to Sam & how the release of Leviathans led to Bobby's death, Dean being angry at him wasn't unexpected. The ONLY times Dean has said NO was when Gadreel blackmailed him to stay away from Cas & when he didn't agree with Cas's plans in S6 which would've not been the case had Cas not hidden so much stuff. 4)That was literally stated in the episode to have been both Balthazar's & Cas's joint effort. It's not hypocrisy as I didn't say it was okay for Dean to banish Cas (NOT TO HEAVEN) as a distraction because it wasn't okay, it was wrong as well. I don't even think Cas was the bad guy in S6, he was fighting to avoid another Apocalypse that Raphael wanted to start, but apparently Cas hasn't done anything wrong at all. 5)Yes Angels & Demons were looking for the Nephilim. But do you think if they got the chance to off Winchesters they wouldn't take it? Apparently Dean constantly calling him family, literally making him his priority over even Amara when he wanted to get Lucifer out of Cas, literally sacrificing himself so that Cas & Gadreel could get the Angel tablet, literally spending a YEAR in a monster filled afterlife to find Cas, being worried AF for Cas when he went MIA after Billie's warning, grieving for Cas to the point of being suicidal after Lucifer killed him, apologising to Cas for not knowing it was Asmodeus who was calling them etc. are all being ignored because he snapped at Cas a few times, so he treats Cas like a 'slave'. Like Cas hasn't done the same at him. Like Cas didn't shame him for putting Sam's soul back. Like Cas didn't call him a broken burnt out shell of a man. It's not just 4 instances, there are many more that shows that even Cas's treatment towards the Winchesters, especially Dean hasn't been any better. Dean is still a decent person, but your hate towards him has stopped you from seeing it. Unlike you I at least also acknowledged in my original reply as well as here, that Cas has also done a lot of good. None of the characters are black & white, all of them have shades of grey. But you seem to hold Dean as a villain. Dean never forgot any of the sacrifices & good things of Cas & literally calls him his brother. The writers have ruined all of the characters but apparently it's only Dean whose bad is visible to you while desperately defending any & all of Cas's mistakes. I never denied that Cas has done literal TONS of good, as unlike you are vilifying Dean, I'm not vilifying Cas. No character is perfect, it's literally their growth from their flaws that's the development we like to watch. Cas too got less abusive over time but as you said his screentime has been reduced so... Dean's mistakes are literally held at him for seasons together, the whole MoC SL was based off of his guilt. None of his mistakes are ignored. Heck people who do much worse on the show get off much easier. I agree Cas deserves better treatment than he gets, but so does Dean. Both are flawed characters with good intentions who try & grow, but you're vilifying one & glorifying the other. I agree 100% Dean has made mistakes & has flaws. Cas deserved to be forgiven & he was. Immediate forgiveness isn't something any of TFW are able to do, & honestly no human can. It takes time to forgive, & it happened. They literally left him with Meg to protect /him/. They did give up their feud to help Cas in S8. They didn't accept him as Family fully from the get go but it's undeniable that over the years they genuinely have. When Dean wrongs Cas, he himself feels guilty & tries to make up for it, when Cas wrongs Dean, he has to be made realised first that he even did so. That's why the narrative focuses like that. They also focus on Dean's wrongs. You're not a bad fan if you don't ignore Dean's mistakes. Even being a Dean stan, I myself call him out. Heck I fought with other Dean stans even when he's done wrong & the extreme ones defend him. But negating the tons of good Dean has done towards Cas & focusing on the few bad moments isn't fair either. I liked your vid, figuratively & literally, but even you must realise that there's a bias against Dean here. I don't deny he's done wrong towards Cas quite a few times but he's done tons of good as well which isn't acknowledged.

i love this but dislike the part whereyou say that winchesters think cas is expandable which is not true at all... Sam was injured and dean went to check on him while informing him the plan then each of them, all three, got their asses kick SO YOU SIR! shouldn't have used that for expandable cass there probably a better scene then that.

i would've been inclined to concede a point if it was "it's not true ANYMORE" it's invalidating what cas went through altogether... that's what the show always does it either never acknowledges when cas is abused or turns the whole situation to make him the bad guy and i'm trying to show that through this vid like "yes you can pretend all you want that cas x winchester" is all rainbows and sunshine and cas' real family, but here are all the times that "family" failed cas And yes there had been tons of scenes better for it, like that time dean banished him to heaven where everyone was commanded to kill him to say yes to mikael? or that time he was left alone in an sylum with a demon who wanted to use him, or that time they were harassing him for help while never acknowledging how desperate his situation was and actually try to help him and i used it because it was the episode's theme, and i feel like yeah it could have been unconscious on their part, but cas sees that and considering all the past he'd see it as validation of what amara said, especially when at the time there weren't many proof that she was wrong

True, I probably should have said "Not anymore" But honestly that scene still is, IMO, a bad choice considering the true situation behind it and the fact they all get their asses beat. Although you have a point that with all the stuff that has happened to Cas it could somewhat show he expendable (but really isn;t) although for me personally with the fight against Raphel that he was trying to do good but at the same time went about it the wrong way... I mean no matter what we discuss about this video you made is GREAT and AWESOME you did a wonderful job I'm just being a bit nitpicky :P

Dean didn't banish him to heaven, it's canon that whenever a banishing seal is used , angels just get repelled to a far distance, not heaven, it's shown in S12E01, even in S05 when Cas uses the banishment on himself.

I'm in agreement that Cas is a hero but the example you used is a bad one. Car working with Crowley to find purgatory was not the right move. Cas consuming the souls and becoming god thereby letting the Leviathans out was the wrong move and not the deeds of a hero. Also the excerpts you used didn't show when Dean believed in Car but he betrayed him or when they were in purgatory and Dean refused to leave without him. I get what you were trying to do but creating a false narrative to build up a character is doing a disservice to a great character that doesn't need it.
