HI sorry for your lost I know how u feel loosing a bird I myself experience it n til this day I cry a lot n it happened in 2011 still feel the pain.i was wondering why she past away ?I haven't heard why.birds r very fragile love the way he enjoyed herself in a out going life but sometimes it's dangerous to the birds health eating such greasy food or a poison plants.there r so many toxics n dangerous food that birds soul don't eat.i saw some of your videos n looks so much fun but I did see couple of not to save stuff.im a 18 yrs experience regular lady who don't drive n never get a chance to give my birds a great avengers.i would live to but always been afraid of them getting sick cause it does catch up n he died young.how old was the bird when she past? I read a lot about dangers n what they eat my birds eat very healthy Harrison's pellets lots of veggie some fruits n home made fruit juices.goldenfeast bird organic food.i will like to know lucky diets.did the vet tell u why he past? This r my questions thanks for sharing it was so beautiful about the Dolphins this was my dreams.

How on earth did lucky die? Sorry just seen this and as a fellow amazon parrot owner I know these beautiful birds live a very long time average 45-55 years in captivity. so I have a huge question that nobody seems to be asking, how on earth did lucky die? Did she fly away? Was she caught by a predator? Was it an accident? He never says here in this video? 😢🤔

Lucky was a pretty captivating bird, I really enjoyed watching her cruise around the boat, spouting all sorts of funny comments, just like a salty sea dog. I am glad you had those 15 years with her, she will be missed.

Sorry to hear that Rick. We had an African Gray named Rocky. We lost him to cancer a few years ago....he was thirty years old. He was a fan of American Idol....he would blast a rasberry for a bad singer and a wolf whistle for a good one. We truly miss him.

Definitely sad news, and no amount of consolation will ease the pain and the gaping hole in your heart. I know that feeling well. I'd like to say the platitudes that "it gets better" it really doesn't, it just fades a bit with time, but never is really truly healed. there IS one consonance, you two will be together again one day, and you will both be able to really commune with each other.

Hi Rick, we never met, but i follow your videos. Soon we will get FINALLY a sailboat, perhaps we will meet. I feel your pain, i had birds before and they learn so many things. It is always a pinch in the heart when they pass on. I wish you the best. Lucky will remain in our heart. I repeated some of lucky's vocabulary to my wife she was wondering where it came from. Rick, sorry to learn of Lucky's passing...I remember the first time I stepped aboard in Bermuda in 2007 and was amazed to see a parrot and the vocabulary she had. That first morning sitting having my coffee and from under her cover comes...ruff....ruff...Ashley, no barking...as she mimics Ashley barking and then scolds her for doing so....Ashley put her head down and paws over her ears....I laughed so hard... And her woohoo as we jumped off those waves you talk about in your auto-pilot renewal... What an awesome companion. I'll have a toast in her and your honour.. Mark

My condolences on the loss of your pet companion. I understand as I also have a bird companion of over 33yrs, an Orange Winged Amazon. He survived being poached and smuggled into this country. Being battered tormented and abused I rescued him and he's been with me every since and every where that I have lived. He's been the 'rock' fixture in my life through thick and thin. I have often thought of having him stuffed and mounted on a branch should he pass before me. Losing a close pet is difficult and I'm quite sure you still look for her upon deck. God speed.

Well Rick, sorry for your loss. I had seen this news a while back when you posted on facebook and the passage of time has not made this video any easier to watch, I can just imagine how your feeling. She was a lot of fun and even thought Brandon, Bonnie and myself only spent a week with her, she captured all our hearts, and a piece of Brandon's finger. Rick, I'm so sorry and sad to hear of your lose. A 15 year span is rather short for an African Grey parrot, but sometimes these things happen. It's too bad you didn't take Lucky to a Vet to have a necropsy don't to learn what caused Lucky to pass away. That's always a good thing to know in case there is anything you could have done differently or if Lucky had a problem from hatchling or if it was desease. I any case, I fully understand your pain as I've been through it myself with the many animals who have shared our home. My best suggestion on dealing with this is to get another bird when you are ready. That bird won't replace Lucky, but will fill the hole in your heart as you begin to establish a new relation with it. That is what I was told when I lost our last parrot and I followed through 23 years ago with getting our current bird named Angel. I miss our other companions, but Angel has filled the hole that was left in my heart. One of the best decisions I've ever made.
